Absolutely agreed. Of course, they analyze ONE play where he's not traveling and saying "see, he doesn't travel." What I don't understand is why no one ever just identifies the pivot foot. On the analyzed play, he gathers with his front right foot on the ground and his left rear foot in the air - his pivot foot. He steps forward establishing his pivot foot on the ground. Now, as long as that pivot foot doesn't touch the ground anywhere else, it's not traveling. In the example, he didn't. But in some of the others shown he definitely did.Put together your video. I'll tell you which moves are traveling and which ones aren't. From the video above of say he travels on well over 75% of those moves.
OT: Traveling by drivers in real time is hard to call. However, another thing I don't understand is that traveling occurs very often by 3 point shooters - including Lillard! I was amazed years ago when I went to a Blazers-Jazz game that Korver was practicing traveling before the game (and in fact did it during the game). If you gather with 2 feet on the ground, one of them HAS to be your pivot foot - it can't come back down. However, Korver was practicing gathering with 2 feet on the ground and hopping, then shooting - that's traveling.
