2 all stars < age 24, a ton of picks incoming, no pressure to do anything more than just make the playoffs still trumps anything appealing about portalnd (which at this point is just dame, that too with similar external pressures to leave).

zion's family can gripe about anything they want but he still showed up every day and was by all accounts coachable. And i will eat my shoe if a max level player takes a qualifying offer to force his way out after his rookie scale.

But for most of this season, certain Williamson family members voiced displeasure with the organization. Among the targets of their criticism was Van Gundy, who they felt was too rigid and demanding as head coach, but also with the organization, which they claim did not live up to what they felt should be the standard for a star like Williamson. Numerous opposing league executives had heard the complaints, and they were confirmed by Pelicans officials.

Teams need to focus on drafting orphans. Problem solved.

I’d eat my hat if there isn’t a better trade out there.
And if Dame wanted out, I’d ship his ass to the highest bidder, not to some pre-determined location.
I’m sure a team will pull a Kawhi-Toronto and say hey, maybe we can deal with him for 3-4 years and get a chip then watch him walk.
Also taking away our scoring and adding players who can’t score at all would make us WAY worse than we are now.
Wayyy worse.
And in another thread, I said Simmons ain’t worth it. Cant play in the 4th of meaningful games. Can’t shoot.

I thought that was big negative to me about Simmons when he came out of college. He would refused to shoot 16 feet or more and that's the same as to day. So he hasn't improved his game offensely since he got draft. To me I would look for different package without Simmons in it.

If Dame demanded a trade then I would see that as a good package. But as of now, Portland for sure says no (mainly because Olshey would and should be terrified of trading Dame otherwise).

That would be a great start on rebuilding for the Blazers, and I'd root like hell for that Sixers team.
