Monty and CP3 continue to be relentless in running the same action over and over until you Denver stops it.

And this aggressive pick and roll defense with early rotations are making the reads way too easy for Paul. Took Dame a game or two to really recognize them consistently. CP is just on a whole different level as a passer and general feel and IQ for the game.

Monty's been great with the play designs too.

Talked about the drag screens (both single and double) to get in MPJ or whoever into these long tag and recovers and the Chicago action out of the corners, but even little things like running fake Spain pick and roll to get a drop with Jokic, knowing that they want to defend it by dropping and switching the ball handler and the back screener.

Just been beautiful to watch.

Ya see why I said there was no point of the 2nd round even if we beat the Nuggets lol

This isnt even anything special. Just basic effort
Yep, defense is a lot of just simple effort, and schemes. Yeah, having longer arms or being taller helps (same with being fast), but it's not as hard to play passable defense.

James Jones, the Phoenix GM since 2018, is the kind of GM Portland needs instead of Mr Snakeoil

in four seasons, he has guided the Suns from the worst record in the NBA; from consecutive seasons of 21 and 19 wins, to then the equivalent of 38 wins, then this season, the equivalent of 58 wins and the 2nd best record in the NBA

How? well unlike Olshey he didn't spend all his time dumpster diving and rearranging the rotational pieces in the 2nd and 3rd rows. He had his all-star SG and went out, took a big risk, and added a older HOF player to pair with his existing elite player. He didn't overrate his role players for 6 years. And he didn't enlist the whole fucking team into being the dumbfuck custodian of some over the hill star's legacy.

he also didn't fuck up his full MLE either. While Olshey was overpaying for an ill-fitting SF, Jones signed a perfect fit in Jae Crowder

a tale of two GM's and the one in Phoenix is clearly better, while the inferior one in Portland apparently gets a 10th season to drive the Blazers into the ditch....again

Suns have played 14 guys tonight. Is that legal?

Jones chose Ayton over Doncic. I know they’re up 2-0 in the second round but that pick won’t age well. He could’ve looked elsewhere for a big man and taken the guy with Top 10 all time potential. We shouldn’t be praising Jones here. At least not yet.

Suns are a nice team. But they wouldn’t be where they’re at without Paul. I’m curious what’s going to happen in a year or two.

Btw Ayton had another 15 and 10 game with just 2 fouls. TWO FOULS! my god Nurkic is so garbage please get rid of that mental case

Takes one to know one right ? Officiating dictates big men. Joker has shot 6 FTs in the second round. He averaged that per game against the Blazers.

I’m not even going to get mad if Dame ask for a trade. Dude gave it all and deserves to get a ring.
