East looking like a typical playoff first round (1, 2, 3 seeds all up 2-0, 4/5 tied 1-1).

West first round is all messed up (1, 2, 3 seeds all lost a game at home, 5 seed up 2-0 on 4).

I would say the season was all messed up, and the first round has gone about as it should. Utah-Phoenix-Denver is the weakest top-3 in the West in recent memory. And by recent, I mean since the '70s or '80s!

In a top-4 vs bottom-4 bracket (not sure how individual wins and losses would be tallied), would anyone pick against the bottom-4 this year?

My conclusion is east has clear divide between top three teams and others while west has more parity. Right now, and that could change by day's end, any of seven teams, excluding Clippers, could win the west.
