Our defense might not be very good, but watching the Lakers and Knicks on offense was painful.

Knicks have been bad on offense all year

Lakers have been too, but at least they have the excuse of missing lebron and Schroder

I still don't think any teams really fear playing the Lakers enough to try and finesse their seeding. Lakers looked dominant most of last season. They've looked dominant this year for about two weeks and that was more than 3 months ago

Lakers and Mavs wins tomorrow and Blazers got Utah… ugh. Back to the 6th spot. My predictions, Mavs the 5th and Blazers and Lakers tied and Blazers take the 6th
If LeBron comes back tomorrow and is playing even at 80%, we'll be headed to the play-ins. With LeBron added to the team that just beat the Knicks why should we think they'll lose to any of the weak ass teams they have left to play and at the same time, why should we think we'll beat two out of the three tough teams we have left?

I love it that we still have a chance this season but that doesn't mean I should be kidding myself. In this case especially about the value Stotts does or does not bring to this team.

This isn't Star Wars and this also isn't my life so there is no dark side. If I was a player on the team, I would need to just focus on getting our shit together and bringing a winning attitude because it would be my life but since my attitude (and yours for that matter) has no bearing on the outcome of games, I can afford to be 100% real about this shit.

The reality is Stotts has been mediocre on a historic level only one other coach has ever coached a team for this long without winning a conference finals game and that coach was Flip Saunders and that team was the Wolves and I fucking hope we hold ourselves to a higher standard than the Minnesota Timberwolves franchise.
I’m being 100% real about the positive. You’re being 100% about the negative. Who’s having the most fun?

Beautifully accurate real common sense post.

Dude, he’s played full game in the last two months (a loss to injured Kings) and he’s hardly played with Drummond at all. I don’t think it’s as easy as you think, esp against a desperate team like Indiana.

Why would we get the 7 seed?

Dallas gets the 5th seed due to being a division winner, then it turns into a head to head tie-breaker with us beating the Lakers 2-1, right? I don't know, just how I thought it worked.

For the team to get the 7th seed despite having a 4-2 record against the teams they're tied with seems crazy.

if its a 3 way tie, Blazers get 6th seed...best winning% among tied teams is 2nd tiebreak after division winner. Good thing because lakers have better conference record than Portland

Flip won 2 Western Conference finals games with the Wolves in 2004 against the Lakers.

I don't know, I'm having a lot of fun. Like I said, this isn't my life and I'm under no delusion that our team is going to win the whole thing this season. So maybe what I think will happen happens and we go out in a bad way in the first round and I get to believe I know some shit about this game, maybe it goes more your way and I get to hang out and watch our team make some kind of run or maybe it goes worse and we end up actually thinking about guys in this draft or using a first rounder to upgrade a guy who's already on the roster.

I love this game and this team but I only really get completely wrapped up in it when we have a realistic shot or games are on the line. So for me it's just game to game until we actually have a legit contender... which we don't currently have. Sorry.

no doubt because if we've learned anything over the past 18 seasons is that it's safe to bet against Lebron

You’ll see.

3 of those seasons he didn’t make playoffs and he’s pretty old now. Something is seriously wrong with him. If he could play, he would’ve played the game against us.

On the flip side; is there any chance the Lakers don't want to face the Clippers in the first round? Seems like the worst matchup for them.

maybe

the more realistic thinking is: Lakers desperately want that week off much more than they are worried about the Clippers. And...NOBODY wants to have a 7/8 play-in game against Curry and the Warriors

You’ll see.
We'll all see, that's the beauty of it and even though I think you're kidding yourself and you think I'm 100% negative (which is funny because I'm a pretty big homer) neither of our predictions mean anything because we'll see definitive results.

I don’t make predictions. I just call shit like I see it. Chris is the prediction guy. He had us at 11-3 to finish season. He might be right.

Wait, like 11-3 so we don't lose to Utah, Phoenix or Denver???

Curry is supposed to be some GOAT shooter but he misses more threes than he makes. Not impressed. Btw- something is wrong with Suns. Needed OT to beat Cavs and losing to play-in teams.

I think I agree with you, but let me poke a couple holes in this logic:

1) The Lakers need a rythem more than they need rest.
2) Finding your rythem in a first round playoff series vs the Clippers is about the worst option possible.
3) If the Steph could knock the Lakers out the playoffs in one game, yes. However, I don't think the Lakers are too worried about Memphis/San Antonio. I think they'd prefer Utah over Clippers.

I'm reaching here!

This is the dumbest post I’ve ever seen and I visited the OT section during the Trump presidency
Dumb? It's true. Check the numbers. Curry misses more threes than he makes. His ENTIRE career. And yet GOAT this and GOAT that.

Clippers are deeply flawed team. I expect them to lose in first round (Lakers would sweep them) no matter whom they play.

Your understanding is correct.
