I think Blake is the “best” of the guys we talk about bringing in, but he also seems like most unlikely to be able to walk on his 35th birthday...
Yeah, that's the $100 million question. If healthy he's one of the only possible available players that could turn the tide back to being contenders this year but it's such a huge risk.

I kinda got the impression you felt the Blazers were already contenders this season?

I have the mindset that Nurk and Collins aren't going to help anymore this year so if they come back and are fine at any point then we might still be okay but I'm looking at it like that would be a bonus.

I also believe that they'll add some reinforcements like last year and there are also a couple young guys that if they get minutes in the mean time then they could be ready for playoff minutes.

Get all of those things to happen and sure we can still be a very tough out in the playoffs. I'm doubting two things though now that I wasn't before the season. The first is that we still don't have an answer for when teams trap Dame. A healthy Griffin would solve that problem. The second is that it's going to be a fight just to make the playoffs at this point. It's hard to be contenders if they don't even make it. I still think they'll fight and get in but Dame and CJ are going to die making that happen.

Was just about to post this.

Really sucks for that dude. Feel like he could have a really good career if he could just stay healthy.
Do you have an opinion on the tweet I posted right before this one??

Myers Leonard continues to burn up the nets. Played 28 minutes in Miami's victory; I think that is the most he has played so far. 5 for 6, 2 for 2 from the three, 7 rebounds, 1 assist, one block. Shooting almost 65% from the three for the season.

Fun fact: Myers is shooting higher % from the three than from the free throw line. Also I don't think those stats include today's game so he must be up to 68.4% on threes. But that is on only 19 attempts for the season.

I’m at Knicks/Mavs game. MSG has the loudest fans in the league. No question. Knicks suck and it’s like Game 7 of the NBA Finals right now.

This is crazy. I can’t ever remember teammates basically being this close while in their prime!
Very interesting. This was as of 5 min ago.

Morant is so damn good. Shouldve been the #1 pick.

Still not sure how good the jumper is going to be, but man is he fun.

Memphis got a good one.

Hope Jaren gets back on track. Tough start to the year for him.
I wouldve probably taken Morant #1. I absolutely understand the hype and freak athleticism of Zion, its a heck of a choice but I think Morant has a Superstar PG career in front of him.

In any other draft, yes. In a draft with Zion Williamson, no way in hell.
I think theres a higher risk with Zion. The body, is amazing but the basketball skillset is a WIP (of course it is with everyone), but I dont think he’s a particularly good defender, he gets highlights but defense is more than that. He may well be a superstar but injuries, skillsets seem like more risk than Morant. Morants got elite playing making ability, he’s a WIP too. Obviously Im not a professional scout and when they read this it’ll probably cement that from ever happening, but just my opinion, I was real high on Morant and I still am.

It's kinda like Lillard vs Davis
Thats an interesting comparison. Davis has spent a lot of time injured in his career. I definitely dont want Zion to get hurt, but with that much weight coming down on his knees so often it seems like a great risk. I think davis had more basketball skills coming out of college than Zion does. Though I think Zion’s probably got better vision then Davis.
