Hmm... Maybe we should get rid of a bunch of stupid laws then?

That isn’t what happened. Just look into it instead of trying be cute.
And where should I look into it? What are your sources of information for this subject?
Care to elaborate?

It’s hardly worth arguing. There isn’t a more dubious conviction you could invent that the left wouldn’t cheer for. It’s just the nature of this situation, this is about vengeance and political interference, not legality or justice. 99% of the people cheering don’t have even a basic understanding of what these charges even are, and they don’t care either. That’s where we are at. The irreversible damage done to the justice system seems to be a fair trade to see Trump get convicted of something. The fact this same type of weaponization will undoubtedly be used against their side in the near future escapes them. The precedent has been set and there is no going back. Couple all this with the fact that Trump will probably be the next president and it gives one something to ponder.
Obama for murder charges? Good luck convincing a jury of that
you need evidence to convict, which is a great precedent.
The State of New York had a shit ton of evidence to convict Trump. Didn't make one whit of difference to Republicans. All that matters is their feelings, regardless of what the truth actually is....and is shown to be.Obama for murder charges? Good luck convincing a jury of that

It’s funny, this forum is the only place I ravenously get called a “maga” or Trump supporter. You can’t question ANYTHING on the Democrat side of the aisle without the pitchforks and torches getting busted out. It’s not even that this place is ‘hardcore left’ because it’s really not. It’s sort of this older demographic of people that become EXTREMELY uncomfortable when you start questioning the monolithic power structures that are in place. It’s really just Bush era republicanism rebranded with this disingenuous corporate wokeism that you see everywhere. If you buy some rainbow shit from Target and repeat a few ‘inclusive’ slogans, then you’ve payed your dues and can support killing children and starting wars all over and not feel bad about it, even defend it using that ideology. It’s really no different than Bush era right wing christians, the Democrats have just found a different moral high ground and ideology to push their wars and corruption. And that really seems to be the over-arching political sentiment i see here. You don't need to be a Trump fan to understand this.

Respect this post. Im one forum member who didn’t vote for Hillary or Trump but I did vote against Trump last time around. I have no love for Biden’s hawkish politics at all but when it comes to the lesser of two evils it’s not even close. I have zero trust in trumps talipublican cult and anyone voting for the guy I find very suspectNot true.
I strongly disagre with 80-90% of the dems platform. And respectfuly state my case. I have taken many shots at the left on this site, when the timing is right. My opinions don't get many likes, but, it makes others think about my views, well, some think about them..you can spot the Bill Maher and Joe Rogan followers here for sure with the far left boogie man colored glasses
I have two problems with the far right.
Trump is a piece of shit. And has been since long before getting into politics. I don't care how the law caught up with Trump, just tickled pink they did.
The far right is now just as out of touch with what is right and wrong, as the far left.
Excuse errors, having trouble this morn.
Ummm.....wasn't it Reagan that went to war with Grenada and Panama?? And Bush1 who went after Iraq? And Bush2 that brought us Afghanistan and yet another war with Iraq??? And then there was the Iran/Contra scandal during the Reagan era. I could go on but hopefully you get my point. It’s funny, this forum is the only place I ravenously get called a “maga” or Trump supporter. I'd like to think most people are immune to the whack-a-doodle BS the establishment spews, but yeah, this place is very discouraging on that front.
What happened with Trump, is basically like the DA of Alabama pinning 50 felonies on Biden because he looked at people funny the last time he was in Birmingham. And if you get a corrupt judge and 12 jurors that hate him, they'll convict him on those grounds. Then we get to say "woo! No one is above the law!"....
We've got hundreds of pages of you and jonny's posts in the covid thread to show that's just not trueI'd like to think most people are immune to whack-a-doodle BS
Donald Trump is the King of whack a doodle BS and it's not even close. We get to say no one is above the law because the truth is the truth. Not for some team sports political allegiance. Choices. Shut off your tv and radio if you don't trust your own filters to deal with media spin on politics. I think most of us figured that out when we were about 7 years old. You conservatives haven't distinguished the difference between the Associated Press and a Steve Bannon editorial. Consider the sourceI'd like to think most people are immune to the whack-a-doodle BS the establishment spews, but yeah, this place is very discouraging on that front.

Semantics. If American citizens died in defense of this country or another, it's a war, plain and simple. We encroached on Grenade, regardless of reason. Americans died. I guess I'm not sure what your point was supposed to be, but Republicans don't get a pass because Grenadians were didn't fight. The people (mainly Cubans) who caused us to be there certainly fought (badly or otherwise). We engaged in an act of aggression. Close enough to be called a war......Not really accurate to say Reagan went to war with Grenada. Grenada was a country with a total population of 100,000, barely a city in the U S. Reagan invaded after a rightist coup overthrew a popular government. The population didn't fight because they had nothing to fight for.
Or if, say, Biden had gotten a BJ in the oval office...Trump committed a bunch of crimes.
If it were remotely possible for "the DA of Alabama" to pin 50 felonies on Biden, that would have already happened.
Former head of the SDNY, Preet Bharara, has a pretty good podcast. His most recent podcast covers the verdict and him and his guests go over which of the many appeals have the greatest chance of succeeding.
A Manhattan jury convicted former President Donald Trump of 34 felony counts of falsifying business records. The guilty verdict marks the first time in U.S. history that a former president has been found guilty of a crime, and it also makes Trump the first presidential candidate to run as a convicted felon.
On a special episode of Stay Tuned, Preet is joined by his CAFE Insider co-host and former U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Alabama Joyce Vance, CAFE Contributor and CNN senior legal analyst Elie Honig, and Westchester County District Attorney Mimi Rocah.
They discuss the historic verdict, reflect on the trial, and look ahead to sentencing and appeal arguments.

I'm too lazy, synopsis please.
Most definitely not giving Republicans or Reagan a pass. Just that to me a war means two sides fighting.Semantics.
