I know brother. It was a joke. Maybe a bad one but a joke nonetheless.
As much heat as Team USA has taken for it I feel like it's worth pointing out.

I wouldn't even say it's a bad joke. It's just worth pointing out is all.

A'ja Wilson just set the all-time WNBA single-season scoring record (with 4 games to go), and is 28 behind Reese for the all-time single-season record for rebounds. With all the attention CC has received, it feels like A'ja's historic season has been under-recognized.

CC just set the single-season assist record.
Oh never mind, I forgot about the turnovers. No big deal move along.

It's kinda funny you say that, because this is the same kinda stuff that people (rightly) were critical of Scoot about.

I'm sure they'll both improve. Swoops had a worst assist to turnover ratio her rookie season.

Although she never wanted it, people on the right considered Clark their great white hope. White and straight. Tried to portray her as fragile while lady pushed and shoved by black thugs. Total bullshit.

Then she liked Taylor Swift post endorsing Harris and encouraging people to vote. Clark has been bombarded with hate mail.

I simply know that I don't sweat TOs, never have.
I grew up watching Nash/AI/Kidd and guys like that lead or always near the top of the league in turning the ball over. When you have the ball that much and are not only creating for others but yourself.....turnovers happen.

Just never looked at it as a negative.

As far ask Scoot, I watched him learning the pro game and trying to figure shit out. Got damn kid out there.

Kinda the same, I always gave Dame a pass on defense because of what he brought on the other end.

Clark is a special player having a historic start to her career. The hate baffles me.

Only a matter of time until Clark silences everyone. We'll on her way to a rivalry with Sabrina for best of all time. Excited to see how much better she is next year. The kid seems driven to be the goat.

I just think all the players that are hating, they need to fucking embrace this her and what she has brought to the league. Charter team planes, full arenas, a new tv deal. And save that shit when they say p[eople are showing up to see them too and we were killing it BEFORE she showed up....maybe, but all of this is HER.
In the long run, they will all benefit.

Freaking sucks. Now watch half of Indiana and Iowa decide that she actually shouldn't be rookie of the Year and shouldn't have made teen USA.

What a bunch of assholes

She's had a lot to do with it no question. I still think the bigger part has been the increased advertising revenue that the WNBA has invested in upcoming college players.

She's great. But this draft class was absolutely incredible, even without Caitlin Clark. Sabrina Ionescu was/is incredible. Her injury took some of the shine off.

But the finances and attention were already coming around.

Nobody needs to kiss Caitlin Clark's ass because they've gotten increased revenue. The increased revenue was coming.

Yes, she's a huge draw. Which is awesome. But the idea that nobody should be able to be critical of anything she does because she's a huge draw is kind of stupid.

Makes me want to pay less attention to anything to do with her. And that's not even her fault.

I love when old tweets come back to haunt. This random ass WNBA player was blasting people on twitter because they couldn't stop CC........HA!

They don't hate unless they envy and/or that player is just that good.

I bet if you ask each person, they say she's really fucking good, BUT (then they give the REAL reason they hate, which is most likely stupid)

The "random ass" WNBA player has made an all-defense team the last 4 years, was 3rd in DPOY voting last year (at only 5'9"), and 2nd in 2021. She is arguably the best defensive guard in the WNBA.

She was injured when Indiana and Washington played previously, but will be on the floor when they match up on Thursday. We'll see then if she's able to back up her tweet from April.

Yes, Clark has too many turnovers. Like every rookie she has to adjust to pro game being faster and more physical than college. She has areas for improvement. She also shoots lights out, racks up assists and packs arenas. I think someone is definitely a glass half empty person.

That's what I've been saying all along.

This is all great. And I've given her credit for that. But all rookies don't break the WNBA turnover record by nearly double... that's notable. It's not being negative to point out the whole picture. That's not glass half empty. That's looking at the glass and mentioning that it is indeed half full, rather than pretending it is overflowing with magic fairy dust.

I try to stay away from this thread because it always devolves, but how many turnovers would CC really have if her teammates could actually secure the ball? I’ve seen her get credited for turnovers that hit them right in the hands. Also seen many when she can see the court and her teammates can’t and they don’t even see it coming to them. I have seen her get her pocket picked, an errant pass trying to play too fast, but far less than the other turnovers mentioned. In comparison, I saw a couple weeks ago a chart showing how many rebounds Reece would have if she didn’t get credited for offensive rebounds on her multiple misses per possession. She gets extra credit for her failures while CC gets hammered for teammates with stone hands, unathletic and at times low BBIQ. What’s great about CC is she doesn’t say anything, doesn’t make excuses. She is a leader and dives under the bus readily, taking the heat never mentioning that many of her passes are solid and her teammates need to be aware and ready. Her BBIQ and ability to execute passes that few if any WNBA players can is what sets her apart. Just thought there should be a mention of the personnel around her. She is doing great working with what she has been given.

Rebound record broken, and also surpassed 1,000 points, while securing a top-4 seed in the playoffs. Just another day at the office for the soon-to-be-3x-MVP.
