Disappointing game, but I think we should take it with a HUGE grain of salt. The refs really shaped the vast majority of those 48 minutes, and it wasn't in a manner that helped us out at all. It's on the Blazers to respond positively to that, and Outlaw really stunk it up, but it's damn hard to beat that many flop-calls on the road.

frustrating loss. the blazers didn't play well with all the turnovers(though at least 3 were horrible offensive foul calls), but they also likely would have won the game had the same calls been made at both ends of the floor.

Here's MB's positive spin to make us feel better

For the casual fan his comments are comforting, but hardcore fans, and I speak for myself, it's getting fucking old and annoying. If we are playing bad say we are playing bad. It's something Snapper used to do.

Yes Outlaw was one of the MANY reasons we lost, but if the refs didnt buy every Maggette flop, MAYBE, just MAYBE we are able to take advantage of our height in the post and keep Greg on the floor. It was no coincidence we went on the run when Oden was in the game...
But Turnovers and Refs were our kryptonite tonight

He got beat handily by a non-playoff team during a time when we should be hitting our stride. Our starting SF had zero points. We need offensive production at that spot.

So when is Nate going to stand up for the team and get a T when the Blazers are getting screwed by the refs. I can't think of a coach who is considered "good" who doesn't do that. Sloan. Popovich. Jackson. Adelman will even get a T. Some do it almost every game. Dock Rivers gets T'd up a lot. Sometimes the refs need to get an earful and let it be known that shit won't fly.

Nate got a T tonight.

Yea, I have started to tune him out, the sugar coating just has to STOP, it makes me even more mad we are losing, not happier.

The refs were morons. All GS had to do was flop- it didn't matter if it was the worst acting job ever or the physics of the action don't match the reaction. Those referees should be declared legally blind after this game.

It would be nice if our guys had the smarts to actually adjust to the refs instead of playing into the opponents hands time and time again. Sure they were bad calls, but you need to adapt.

It's just something we gotta live with. And since we probably get more depressed than the casual fan, we don't want to hear the excuses.

Barrett always likes to make the point that the organization never tells him what to say. Hey Mike, they don't have to, you bring the homerism without any direction from the front office.

Nate DID. He tried going big but the refs called a fucking foul on every fucking possession.

His only fault was not taking out Outlaw sooner.

But we did nothing wrong, they weren't even questionable calls that could go either way.
If you can't post up, WTF do you suggest?

It's on LMA as well. He tried the same move over and over again with the expected result of getting the offensive call. At some point you need to just go to another move because the refs aren't going to let the game by played physical on a particular night.

offensive production out of the starting small forward really wasn't a problem at all tonight. i mean, batum played 14 minutes.

the problems tonight were turnovers, not being able to get to the free throw line, and foul trouble.

Good News-Still in 4th, no ground lost\
Bad News-The Division crown is looking like a lost cause after each road loss

The soothing sounds of Tony Luftman to make Blazer fans feel better. What else could be better. haha

Sucky loss tonight, but at least we get the Rookie game tomorrow to look forward to. Rudy and Greg are gonna be tired, playing 3 games in 3 nights. Will Rudy even be able to jump off the ground on Saturday for the Dunk Contest?

Hello, MIXUM? Is that you? Yes, we obviously need a SF upgrade. I'm not arguing that. I'm just saying that this game doesn't ruin a VERY strong first half of the season, especially considering the "questionable" foul calling.

Man.. the rookie game is already tomorrow? Talk about a brutal schedule..

One positive is that Oden is using that quick baseline move more. It resulted in a nice dunk tonight and should help free up his normal hook shot.

So they are supposed to adapt to a flop? What a fucking joke. When the refs call a game like then it takes away all aggressive post moves. Then you are back to playing soft. Oh yeah....and it is always on the road. Does Maggette get away with that shit on the road. Fuck No! The crowd would go balistic. It happens to every team not just the Blazers. I see it every home game the Jazz play. NBA refs are pathetic when it comes to offensive fouls. How they can watch the same guy do it over and over and still fall for it is beyond me. You might as well play small ball because the rules favor it. You barely touch a player 30 feet from the basket and it is impeding their path to the basket. Why wasn't Maggette impeding LMA or Greg? Let them fucking play and stop the Pussy ass calls.

Dealing with crap refs is part of the game. It's like he was daring the refs to make the same call over and over again. Guess what, they were consistent with that bad flop call all night.
