What is this friend thing you speak of?

someone who I pay to be nice to me in public.

History has us weary and wary. The ability of the Ducks to self-destruct would be comical - if I was a fan of another team!

I agree with NateBishop though...so far, their ability to avoid mistakes while playing at a breakneck pace is amazing!

The pace, timing and accuracy of the offense is so electric. I have never been as glued to the TV start to finish as I have been this season. Even when the game is in hand, I just don't want to miss a single play.

I am 100 times the bball fan then i am a football fan, but this Ducks team is so exciting, I couldn't even watch my Blazers in real time. The Ducks have overtaken the sports section of my brain.

It's because all the games are crucial for UO. If the Blazers drop one, it's not the end of the world. If UO drops one, they probably don't go to the NC game. I was able to flip over to the Blazers at halftime and watch most of the 4th quarter. I caught the end of the game, and that's all that really matters. Fortunately the Blazers game ended just as the half was ending for Ducks/Trojans. It worked out well.

I know many won't agree, but USC is my #2 team, and has been for a while. They always represented the pac for us. Took a ton of heat, and only now are we realizing what they had to go through year in and year out last decade.

But going to WeAreSC.com I realized that they are really tight. All they are doing is praising our offense (mostly) and talking about how we are MMA verses boxers (the rest of college football) and telling us to bring back a BCS title for the Pac and stuff like that. Actually really good losers (surprisingly).

Anyway, I know that may be blasphemous, but just my thoughts.

Go Ducks!

I stopped watching college football for the most part, but I'm really kicking myself for missing several of the Ducks early games this year. I can't remember watching an offense that was just so much fun.

What they are doing is so unique with that offense. It's just so damned overwhelming, and the pure exhausting nature of it means that they are never out of a game because they are going to be going just as hard in the fourth quarter as they were on opening tip off, while the other team's defense is just wasted.

I see what you're saying as USC is what gives the entire conference respect. But that also demonstrates the east coast bias to college football. I dislike USC because of how easy it is for them and how they have openly laughed at NCAA rules until it got to be too much for the NCAA to overlook. Even now they have 4-5 star athletes 3 deep at every positions and put several second stringers in the NFL. Watching a team like that waste talent is sick.

Right now they do not have NFL talent 3 deep at every position. They had a plethora of kids who transfered out once the sanctions came down and recruits that verballed that chose to go elsewhere. This is the weakest USC has been depth wise in a long time.

They remind me of the Phoenix Suns from a few years back when they had Joe Johnson, Shawn Marion, Amare, etc. That team was insane offensively, and they would just run teams out of the building.

I always cheer for a Pac-10 team over a non-conference team, no matter who it is, for the legitimacy of the conference. Pac-10 football reputation has always been scoffed at by SEC, Big XII, and Big Ten fans. It wouldn't be so bad if there were a playoff, but if you look at the SEC this year, they haven't beaten a single currently ranked team outside of conference. I ask SEC friends about this, and they like to say that it's because playing in the SEC is tough enough, that they don't need to schedule strong non-conference opponents. I think it's a good conference no doubt, but then I look at some other figures. There are only four schools in all of FBS that have never played a single game against an FCS team since the split back in 1978. Three of these schools are Washington, UCLA, and USC. The other one is Notre Dame. I have to respect that, even if I really enjoy beating two of those teams. So I cheer for the Pac-10 first, and right now I'm even hoping that Utah beats TCU this week, now that they're a part of our future.
