I mean, no shit. I'm expecting late 1st and bad money. If he balls out, maybe late 1st and expirings.

We'll get an expiring or something close to it. It will be about getting under the cap as much as we can to make a lopsided deal.

I thought Cleveland would be awesome, but we got Ayton so I don't think that works anymore.

I like Jerami on this team. He's very talented, makes games fun to watch. Doesn't throw crap at ownership when it's tank time for rookies. Will look like a stud in 2-3 years when the Blazers are cruising for a bruising.

I don't see any hurry to trade Grant this season. If the phone rings with a versatile offer, obviously that will change things.

Can't move him for a while anyway, but it will be interesting to see what kinds of offers might come in before the deadline.

Who else will we display that makes their own clothes?

He can do two good things: shoot and defend. The trouble is, he rebounds like a guard (not Josh Hart) and dribbles like a center.

I do not totally buy this for this season BUT i could see this next offseason but I will say this --- either Ant or Grant will be gone within a year that I do believe.

The first pick next year should be ours.

I think the Blazers need a defensive type or at least a more defensive focused SF / PF type player kind of the same thing we needed before and Grant does not fit that. Also we might not agree about the whole Dame thing but I still wonder why Grant was re-signed and how Cronin deals with this contract will really determine is worth as a GM. I still think IF they knew they were rebuilding why not just let him walk so WHEN this trade happens they need a 1st and solid asset or this will a black mark on Cronin's record in my opinion.

If you let Grant walk you've lost a tradable asset. He's now under contract and very tradable.

No rush in trading Grant. He just may be a perfect fit alongside Ayton? Holiday must be moved as he’s gone at the end of the season. Move him by this weekend.

I'm in no hurry to trade Grant. This roster has plenty of young talent. No need to tear it down to the bone. Grant seems to be a solid-character guy that likes Portland. Keep him unless the Blazers get an offer they can't refuse.

I'm gonna throw out a blockbuster.

(In a world where Jrue isn't immediately traded)

Jrue and Grant to Brooklyn for Simmons/Cam Johnson and picks.

His 3-point shooting will probably be very valuable with the current roster.

I think we'll see parts of his game we haven't seen much of, such as fast-break ball-handling and passing, when he is playing with a faster tempo. Grant is murder as a fast-break finisher because of his size and skill. He is able to slither around defenders in a situation where other players might get called for a charge or become unable to convert.

For the next 3-5 years we will be a cut above a G league team.
If that's the case, I would call this rebuild a failure.

I say the Blazers should focus on winning now. They most likely won't make the playoff, but I expect them to be competative. They've got almost half their roster less than 26 y/o. No need to tear it down further and tank. Accumulate young assets and start to build a winning culture.

Scoot and Sharpe have obviously not reached their prime, but they are ready to win NOW.

Watch Sharpe at the end of the game in Minnesota. How is any player expected to do better than this?

Dribbling past defenders and going right at Rudy Gobert.

I would easily take Sharpe right now over Dame in this situation. Sharpe's length, jumping ability, and slitheriness are just better. His finishing ability is already excellent.

I don't understand why the Blazers would not want to give Scoot, Sharpe, Ayton, and Grant a
good shot right now.

Video is cued up to the end of the game.

I hope so, at 73 Id like to see the team not go into tank mode for the next 2-3 years and then wait another 3 years to develop. I hope they go into a win now mode, they should if they want to keep Shae & Scoot around.

Will be a bailout option for Scoot as well. Always a threat to get a bucket on his own.

Grant is also going to look so much better as a defender when he isn’t asked to guard the ball handler all game.
