Channing Frye is looking better, but I?m still a bit concerned with how foul prone he is collecting 5 in 17 minutes. I heard that it?s because he was told ?be aggressive because he can?t foul out!? so I guess he?s taking that really seriously. He did however have 6 rebounds and 3 blocks during that span too. It seems like he needs work on defense and positioning.

It seems as if David Lee is collecting many fouls, too; although I?m not quite sure why ? I didn?t see the game. I think once he gets adjusted, there will be no holding him back. I?m very interested to see how he?ll fair in the regular season at the Garden.

Nate is doing his thing again. He isn?t scoring as much, but one thing I do like is seeing him being more passive and racking up more assists for us. In Washington, he was playing mostly shooting guard and he?s just getting used to playing point guard. Once he becomes a better passer, he will be great for us because not many guards can match his quickness and explosiveness.

Fyre is a hack! If he's not fouling the other guy he's letting them score. I doubt he was told "be aggressive, you cant foul out". He's supposed to be getting ready for the NBA season and you can foul out in the NBA regular season. This is not what Isiah Thomas was expecting when he drafted Frye. Isiah was looking to get a player that would be able to contribute right off the bat for the Knicks. He's getting a good deal of his points because of Robinson's great play rather than generating his own offense. Frye does not look like he's played four years of college. He's supposed to be dominating against these guys instead he's letting the last pick of the first round show him up. By the way whatever happened to Frye gaining over 20 pounds of muscle? And being quicker and more explosive than ever before? Nothing has changed with him. Looks like a wasted lottery pick. On the bright side Robinson is looking good as is David Lee. I'm impressed with David Lee's quickness and low post skills and impressed with Robinson in general, although I still say we should have gotten Ukic its turning out okay.


Anyway I think Isiah Thomas should be fired.

Yeah, he did tell him that, it was on Knicks.com the other day. They said they want Frye to be more aggressive and they?re not worried about that. They also said the games weren?t going to get called as tight as they were in the Summer League games, too. I?m a bit worried about Frye as is many other Knick fan, but let?s remember Frye has much time. The regular season didn?t even start yet so we shouldn?t be quick too judge. You remember Nikoloz Tskitishvilli? I heard he dominated the Summer Leagues and took home a MVP or something. Also John Salmons took home the MVP in 2003 and averages 4/2/2 for the Sixers. That being said, although Frye looks like a wasted pick, the verdict isn?t out yet.

Not quite sold on Ukic. In terms of potential, he has more because he?s 6?5, but Robinson is the better player and if he were 6?5 he could compete with Bogut for the #1 pick. If 40 teams passed up on him, I think there must be more questions about his game.


Anyway, I think the verdict is still out on Isiah.

Ukic can turn out a Ginobili type, he's just an exciting player as Nate, thats why he was projected the 4th PG behind Felton, Paul, and Deron.

Not taking anything away from Nate, but Ukic is a flashy player, but needs to add weight if he wants to get big minutes.

It's not looking good for us, guys. We lose another one, only this time it's a blowout and we now stand at 2-2. No one shined; everyone did pretty badly.

Yeah, there was a lot of slipping going on, but 41 is a huge stretch.

Because of stupid GM's like Isiah Thomas who have not the faintest idea of how to build a winning team. Youre actually bringing up the fact that he was drafted #41 to suggest Robinson is better? Wow. I thought silly arguments like that would have gone away after Ginobli went in the late second round or after John Starks didnt go drafted at all. Using your line of thinking the guy who got drafted ahead of Michael Jordan ended being a better player than him.

Knicks vs. Bucks

98-91 W

This was a great game for us. I was especially interested to see the results of this game to see how Frye would do against the #1 pick, Andrew Bogut. Judging from the box score, it seemed like a good match-up. In 29 minutes, Frye dropped 20/5/4 on Bogut and shot 7/10 from the field. He was 6-6 from the line and for the first time, didn't get into foul trouble. Although he did have 5 rebounds, I think the fact that he was playing against David Lee effected his rebounding. The 4 turnovers are my only complaint.

David Lee had a great game and had a double-double. In 36 minutes, he shot 7-9 from the field and grabbed 11 rebounds and dished out 5 assists. He had 4 turnovers like Frye, though. I get this feeling he will be a more than solid contributor for us. He?s currently one of my favorite Knicks.

Robinson struggled against them shooting 6-16 from the field and turned it over 4 times to go along with his 4 assists. He did however shoot 5-5 from the line. It?s all good, though; we say what Nate is capable of plenty of times. I just wish there was another one of those put backs!

So I guess every GM in the league is stupid for passing him up 40 times. I'm not suggesting he's better because he was drafted higher - What I'm saying is if anyone is supposed to be the 4th best PG in the draft, why would they fall so low? Starks and Ginobili were considered nobody's in the draft; Ukic wasn't and the fact that they went so low I think says something.
