That's why I call them stories 31, writers nowadays can make up whatever they want and sadly I'm more interested in Rangers trade rumors than who's left playing for the Cup. I think if I'm Drury Edmonton and Toronto are my first targets to make a trade but realistically Laf is going to be undervalued. It's not surprising to see all those soft ex-Rangers getting rolled by Tkachuk and company, postseason success is on the players and their will to be physical and play all-out, there's nothing a coach can do if his players don't want to get their hands dirty as we saw wthl GG.

Have to wonder what Sather and Dolan are up to - puzzling.

The Rangers have dismissed head athletic trainer Jim Ramsay, The Post confirmed on Friday. Ramsay had been the head trainer for the past seven years and with the franchise for 29 seasons.

Seems strange since he has been here for three decades. There has to be more to the story.

I wonder if they have interest in bringing Fast back?

I don't get why they weren't willing to sign Grubbe to an ELC when they don't have much C depth in the minors.

Patrick Kane will miss four to six months after hip resurfacing surgery.

Patrick Kane will miss four to six months after hip resurfacing surgery.

First off I wish him well.

That's a tough procedure. You almost wish it was a labrum. Longer recovery time but more of a straightforward and routine surgery (yes easy for me to say as I type this comfortably on my couch). Resurfacing has ended several careers and Backstrom looked terrible l last year when he came back from it.

The other point of note is that he will in theory be "healthy" - or whatever his new standard of healthy will be - by around December. Will make it tougher to stash him on LTIR for the season. If he's in the plan then we'll need more space this year to activate him.

Tough news for him, tough situation for us.

Shouldn't we have known about this when we were looking to trade for him?

I think Kane will take 2 million or less for one year to come back. He's a proud guy and I'm sure he wants to make up for last season.

That would be great as that's probably all Drury can afford, he'll get better offers than $2 mil. I'd rather see the Rangers go back to the gritty philosophy that had them so close. Vegas is like the Gas House Gorillas, they're all up in Tkachuk's face and even their smallest player Marchessault is a tiger, ironic that the Panthers gave him up in the expansion draft. Vegas is a 6 year old franchise with 2 Cup appearances already, hope Drury is taking roster building notes.

Who says we didnt know? It was never officially reported but was widely speculated before the deadline that Kane was on one leg and would need surgery. Friedman alluded to it several times in his reporting and I posted it here. If we were hearing it I am sure Drury heard it and looked into it.

My guess is Drury knew and that's why he went elsewhere early with his first rounder. We had moved on. When it came back up the question was whether he could still bring enough to make the cheaper price worth it. Spending a second on a gimpy Kane is not the same as spending a first on a gimpy Kane and causing you to miss out on other guys. Drury rolled the dice and it didn't work out, for a lot of reasons.

It would be great if Kane took a 1 year prove it deal for cheap, but long road ahead for him.

We did a lot of cap gymnastics and even had to play short handed for a couple of games (IIRC) to bring him in. If we knew he was damaged goods i question why go through all that effort and give up a 2nd.

I said from day one this was a bad trade. Played short handed, gave up a 2nd, and totally screwed up team chemistry with another player who was soft as fuck and wouldn’t/couldn’t drive to the net or shoot a shot that was worth a fuck. Total waste of a move. Literally made the move just to make it. We had ALL the leverage. He ONLY wanted to come here. If we were going to do this trade you offer a 6th and tell Chicago take it or keep soft ass injured Kane. This franchise is full on retarded.

Not sure what the Devils are thinking paying so much up front. Their defenseman are way below average. The kids on D they are calling up if they do well will soon cost a ton. I would love to see the Rangers bring back Ryan Graves. He would be a perfect partner for Schneider. Probably going to cost you 5 for 25. Worth it IMO. Jones and Vesey should be moved. It will be close with the cap but they should be able to do it. Othmann, Cuylle or another couple young forwards will have to round out the roster. I think there is a good chance Montreal will make a offer sheet for Lafreniere. Personally, I think we are going to lose him to his hometown team.

I guess they're going to keep Goodrow for now and just sign everyone right to the cap limit in-house. Maybe they deal him next week. Hopefully Othmann's ready to go in October.

Predictable deal for K'Miller. He just needs to cut down on the turnovers and the sky's the limit.

Miller was a bumbling idiot with turnovers all year. That’s way too high for my liking..

Fuck face Drury has been pissing away a lot our draft picks lately. If this year goes sour, he needs to sell. Big time. Stock the farm again.

Not that it means all that much, but the NHL network has Othmann rated 44th in their top 50 prospects. Seems like he should at least be in the top 30. They did have Shest 25th and Fox 48th in 2018 so it is an inexact science I suppose.

Rangers prospects are usually never rated high as there is a clear example of anti-NY hatred by the hockey world. Lots of small market dickheads who hate NY. That being said, Othmann offensively wasn't great last year. I suspect he was working on other parts of his game. Our farm system fucking blows at center. Dumbass Drury traded Grubbe. Didn't sign Veirling. They seriously need to put a priority on drafting a big center prospect or trading for one. If Lafreniere and Kakko are actually given a legit chance on the first PP unit this year and are developed properly for once, if they don't break out more this season, I believe one of them will be packaged with a Jones and perhaps Garand for a substantial young center prospect. Garand could have a ton of value if he lights up the AHL this season. On a side note. The morons posting at HF on the Rangers board continue to be lost on rating prospects. They have Berard rated 8th. He's never going to amount to shit.

At least McConnell-B and Korczak look promising, but yeah, they need to infuse even higher end guys than that into the system at C.
