So what would President Denny do about this? Bomb the Russian military bases? Drone attacks? Maybe a couple of nukes? Exactly how would you stop Russia from building bases in a place you don't want to send US troops?

No, a good president wouldn't put his country in position to have to bomb the Russian Miltary base.

Russia was gonna do what they did regardless of who was president. Annexing Crimea had everything to do with Oil.

It would be if Ivan has a history of instigating fights, telling everyone that he wants to fight Sam, then Sam says "If you sit on the cool table, I'm gonna punch you" and Ivan sits there anyway.

See, I disagree with you. Unless the school authorities say otherwise, Ivan has the right to sit at any table he wants, and Sam overstepped by trying to dictate to Ivan. Sam tried to become the bully, and Ivan just called his bluff. Standing up to a bully does not equate to bullying, regardless of the history.

Support liberty, not bullying.

What should of Obama have done? Do you think we should have built military bases in Syria? I'm not seeing how Russia going to a place we're not interested in going to is some big insult to us.

If Syria is the cool table then I have no problem letting Ivan sit there.

I don't think we want Russia building military bases in the middle east, do you?

Why aren't we stopping them?

Because Obama's afraid of the big bad bully.

That's just hilarious to me. The "Big Bad Bully" also has MORE nukes than we do. We are already having economic sanctions. What's your plan? Ground troops?

We should have the CIA secretly give anyone who will try and knock Ivan off of the cool table money and weapons.

100% agree with you. Obama overstepped his bounds by making a threat he couldn't follow through with.

Wouldn't that support Russia being the big bad bully?

What would president Denny have done?

Not encouraged the arab spring in the first place.

Not drawn a line in the sand over there. But once we did, we were obliged to bomb WMD locations in response to the use of WMDs.

Not surrendered in Iraq. Or at least not signaled the Shiia they could exact revenge upon the Sunni after we did leave. Like it or not, Bush stuck us there and no timetable for troop withdrawal made sense with the threat of ISIS out there.

Allowed Ukraine to enter NATO before Russia used military force to annex part of it.

Work to improve relations with Russia, without getting all preachy about Chechnya.

I can go on, if you insist.

I love the silly analogies, too. But if you insist:

The kid sat down at the table with a knife that's not allowed on school property, displaying the knife in a threatening manner.

For this to be analogous, much like Ivan is violating a policy established by the existing authority (the school board), Russia would have to be violating a UN regulation.

So, what UN regulation is Russia violating by building a base in Syria?

Marco Rubio reminds me of a very earnest teenager explaining how his school is really really awesome.

barfo

When some loud braggart tries to put me down and say his school is great, I tell him right away "now what's the matter buddy ain't ya heard of my school? It's number one in the state."

No, the accurate analogy would be the kid sat down in the middle of the town dump with a knife. The kid then proceeds to build a home in the middle of the dump. Denny has never liked the kid and becomes jealous that he has built a home in the dump. Denny finally sneaks up on the kid and shoots him and takes over the dump home. Victory! Meanwhile the rats go on doing their rat things, not caring about the kid or Denny. Denny sees this and decides to civilize the rats. Brings in more friends, spends tons of money trying to fix up the dump and domesticate the rats. Denny finally teaches 2 rats run thru a maze. Declares victory again. Leaves the dump to look for a new "bully" at a different dump.

Using Brietbart polls and believing them is hilarious. Trump gave no substance in that debate. Carly handed him his drawers.
Brietbart is a conservative poll. It would be the most accurate for conservative votes. This isn't a "general election poll"

And Brietbart doesn't want Trump representing the Republicans

Still skewed.

totally disagree. Carson had multiple chances to punish Trump (including the aforementioned "vaccine" question), yet seemed to have some rapport with him (the weird bro-shake at one point)...I could see the two of them playing off of each other.

AND NOW THAT KID HAS AUTISM! :MARIS61:

Carson knows he can't win. You are seeing alliances being made here. Cruz, huckleberry, Christie and Carson have become best buds. I think these guys want to be part of the cabinet.

I could see trump actually making Carson the Surgeon General

What the fuck are you babbling about?

mags,

You can't use some internet poll and think it's realistic.

One guy could have voted 100 times in your poll.

Or a trump staffer ran some robot to robovote in those polls.
