Official Summer League Game #1 Thread Blazers vs Jazz.......

I’ll never, ever forget the Malone/Stockton era and how much I hated Jazz fans back then
I rooted for that team against the Bulls both finals they played in...if the Blazers were out....I would cheer for Stockton and Malone everytime...Knicks fans I can't handle

I thought both of our young rookies did solid job today. Did they get hung in some yes but but they didn't give up on the play. Simon at times got over the pick really well. Today Trent got beat couple times but he also had really good steal and also lead his man into help defenders really well. But when any Blazers got beat you had Zach doing great job protecting the rim. I give both rookies a B today performance.

Oh damn, I couldn’t feel more different. I loathed that team so much. Jazz were a very close 2nd to the Fakers for me

Your obsession with me is quite strange.

Where did I do this in this thread? I literally said Caleb is a below average shooter, I got called a hater, and I said that's a millennial type of argument. That's it bro. You literally obsess over me, and always come with the same BS no matter what I do.

No obsession. But you’d like that. Typical millennial response. Call your posts on their bullshit and I’m “obsessed” with you.

Your posts have just made the board a weird place. Your posts are often giant dick-ish posts that attack people and your posts seems to imply they’re always right and any posts that isn’t eye-to-eye is wrong.

It’s kinda ruining the board and there’s several folks that have noticed it and don’t know what to do with it. Your posts remind me of how I feel the rest of the world views America. There’s a total lack of respect for other posts and the opinions expressed in them. Unless of course they share your posts’ same viewpoint.

You’re a nice dude in person. A nice kid. But fuck, man. This place was, for all its’ faults was once an enjoyable place for a lotta folks. And a

What did I do wrong in this thread though? What did I do in this thread that was "dick-ish" or "disrespectful"? I got called out for stating an honest fair opinion. I got called out by someone else for stating an honest opinion on draft night. You don't see both sides.

So you're claiming I'm ruining the forum huh? What in this thread are you basing this shit off of? I literally can't get away from your criticism unless I never say anything negative about the team, because when I do usually someone is there to call me a "hater" or get on my case about it, and then there's times I respond in a respectful way, and others escalate it.. Then, you come in here to post the same crap like this...I literally can't have a disagreement with anyone without it being skewed and misportrayed.

What have I done wrong in this thread? Please point out one post that deserves this response from you, or is ruining the forum for others. If anything, it's the people always trying to call out others that's making this place unbearable.

I don’t know a lot of Jazz fans or Mormons, but it kind of annoys me you’d stereotype an entire fan base as racist... Annoying sure but I find that type of comment very off putting.
It's literally a half-joke based on Westbrook's comments after their playoff series and based off what their own writers have said about there fans...

Fair enough, I don’t doubt there racists in their fan base. Just that type of broad statement always makes me uneasy. Anywho sports! Lol

Honesty I’m not sure he would or not. I mean if They offered Anthony Davis or something I’m sure he would go for it l. Neil in my estimation at least tends to over value “his guys”. I think that’s both good and bad at times. He also doesn’t seem like the type to make a big trade.
He reminds me of that one guy in business meetings that is always asking about ROI, and wants to do risk analysis on everything and is mostly unwilling to do medium risk moves. Now like I said that’s not always bad, and it can definitely save you from doing something stupid. That’s just my impression of him.
You could be correct that he over values his players? I think he like many GM's learn along the way that if you are wanting to better balance a roster chances are it will be necessary to maybe give up more that you really want. And the trade off hopefully is better overall productivity with an improved roster balance.
Ive always felt that we in Rip City covet our players more because of the high exclusivity the Blazers have here , other than the Timbers.
Neil's, responsible objective performance goals weighting certainly goes way up these next 12 months so time will tell just how good or bad of job he's done?
Im hoping that with the evolving of some of the youngsters coupled with the continued growth of Dame, and other core players, and a trade or two will help us take a next step.
You know, Im betting on Neil one of the top third gm's in the league, imo.
Rip City

He ranks worst in trades, because he doesn't make any. He ranks 9th-worst in current cap situation. You must be ranking him in speech-making.

If NO quit / got fired tomorrow what do you think his legacy would be in Portland.
Personally I see him as a salesman. He talks down to his fan base a lot. He is responsible for one of the worst off seasons in franchise history (2016), and has yet to really pull the plug on a big trade.
On the flip side he has been fairly successful in the draft. He hasn’t made a lot of bad trades because he doesn’t trade very often. He also did a good / great job of recovering the franchise after Aldridge left.
I’m trying to avoid just saying he’s bad because I don’t like him, as I know that’s not really fair.

I don’t really know if I buy that he’s in the top 3rd of GM’s but I respect your opinion.

I wish people would stop using the term "millennial."

It represents people born in the 80s, 90s, and even the early 2000s. So much can happen in three different decades. That's like throwing people born in the 40s with people born in the 50s and the 60s. The kids in the 40s grew up during a world war. The kids who were born in the 50s fought in Vietnam. The kids who were born in the 60s got to make movies like Top Gun. :dunno:

lol....I knew id from you!
He made a few good trades just like any solid GM, some good some bad?
So because a GM has their team under the cap, thats make them better than the Blazers GM?
I think he has built a pretty solid team that is close to taking the next step.
Lets see how it plays out.
Just curious, who in opinion is the best GM Blazers have ever had?

“Called out”? Or just disagreed?

I’m sure you do get called out now, though. You reap what you sow. I don’t spend much time here anymore. Place has gone downhill.

I see we're getting to know each other...I get you mixed up with the other HoopsGuy who came with you.

HoopsJock, I think it is. I may answer one when I mean to answer the other.

Two things I’m trying to figure out-

What does “Make America Great Again” mean

What does a “Millinnial Response” mean

How the hell do you get ejected in Summer League? For fuck's sake lmao. I like the fight, but come on now.....
