Do you trust Neil?

So far his trades are looking mediocre.

Vonleh is extremely raw and not even close to being a rotation player. It's a contract year for Nic but he's playing at an All-Star level - at SG.

The Brooklyn trade has worked out well for both teams but long term is concerning - RHJ, before the injury, looked every bit as disruptive on defense as Oladipo. His jumper is broken but he showed Tony Allen-like potential.

Giving up a first-rounder for a declining player who was going to opt out stings. Barton playing like ADHD Ginobli only compounds it.
I do think it was a mistake to give up on will Barton He is one player that I wish we still had. He is shooting 46%, 14ppg, 5 rebounds, 40% from downtown in 27 min a game.

Yes.

This is essentially Vonleh's rookie year after missing time last year in Charlotte. From all accounts, Olshey tried to move Batum for a 2015 lottery pick but no one was biting so he found one from 2014. Noah's overall instincts are great but he needs more time to grow his confidence. Batum is having a great year in Charlotte but he is going to get PAID next offseason. Does anyone really want to give Nico MAX money? I mean, good for him, but consistency has always been an issue for Nic and we all know how much he loves playing for France in the summers.

Brooklyn trade was good value. While I firmly wanted to keep RHJ for his defense, it's hard to be upset at getting a 25 year-old starting center for the 23rd pick in the draft.

Most likely, we will not have to give up a first-round pick to Denver. Even so, it was a good move. We were a Top 4 team out West last year and it was time to go all-in. I'm pretty sure a ton of fans would have been upset at Olshey had he not made any moves at the deadline. Unfortunately, Afflalo didn't work out here in Portland but sometimes you have to take a risk and go for it all.

Neil also signed Ed Davis to a 3-year, $21 million deal this summer which is looking like the bargain of the offseason. He traded two second round picks for Allen Crabbe, drafted CJ McCollum in 2013, Damian Lillard, Meyers Leonard, and Will Barton in 2012, acquired Moe Harkless for nothing and picked up Aminu on a reasonable deal.

Olshey could have very well found stop-gap players to help us sneak into the playoffs this offseason once Aldridge left, but he was smart enough to realize being mediocre is the worst spot to be at in the NBA. Not all trades and signings are slam dunks but, overall, I like what he's done.

Definitely a mixed bag. I don't care to go through all his moves at the moment, but I'd say there are probably more "misses" than "hits".
With that said, I don't want to replace him.

I trust him in the draft and in free agency. I don't necessarily trust his trades, but we shall see.

Hibbert
Hawes
Aminu (I know some people love him - I see him as a mixed bag)

Olshey has had some questionable FA targets.

Hibbert was an obvious max guy, and was excellent until his Indy teammates screwed him up. With his passing and defense, Hibbert would have been awesome with Aldridge.

Hawes would likely have been much better here than he was in LA. Their offense didn't suit him; ours does.

This isn't exactly LA here... he doesnt have a whole lot to work with in term of flash and pizazz... he either tries to overpay or...that's about it.

He hasnt overpaid yet. Not that we havent offered to overpay a few people (Kanter/Monroe/Hibbert) but even Hibbert looked like a bargain after his first year of that contract.

I think we need scoring off the bench and ESPECIALLY in the frontcourt.

Kelly Olynyk has fallen out of favor it seems - inconsistent role. Minutes (17mpg) are being eaten by Sullinger and Zeller.

Capable scorer, 24 years old and a career 35% from three.

In Portland he'd get the minutes backing up Plumlee and Leonard.

I'd give up a lot to get Olynyk but I think he's not for sale. The Celtics know him well enough to at least wait for a very enticing offer for him

With Colangelo on board they may be looking at a major overhaul. Not a firesale by any means.

B-Edge has an article on this btw. The time to poach is now.

I'd go all in to get Jahlil out of that toxic environment. Same goes for Dario Saric.

Trade Noah and Meyers for both their lottery picks. I'm sure they'll do it!

Okafor would be a good get.

I would take okafor for Henderson due to both team are under the salary cap there no need to have fillers but if they want throw in 2nd round that would be good too.

Okafor is going to take a LOT more than that. I know philly is trying to be bad, but they need to have at least some hope.

??

It would take them being in love with Cj McCollum and either Noah or meyers AT LEAST. Henderson has no use for them at all

I don't see Philly doing any trade with us for Okafor... what do we really have that they need?

I wouldn't even send them a pick at this point because I want a chance at Simmons, albeit a small chance.

Fine, so long as you don't bring his slow-ass no-defense Al Jefferson wannabe self into OUR environment.

Same goes for Dario Saric.
Why not wait until he's IN that environment.

It would be interesting if Colangelo wanted just to dump Embiid to get the bad taste out of their mouths. I would happily give them Meyers in return. Of course the real catch would be Noel, but they're not going to give up a guy who could be top ten in both blocks and steals.

LoL..If they want to throw in a 2nd round pick.

Ye
When BGD laughs at your trade, you -know- it's bad.
yea your right it bad trade idea but I see stranger thing happen in team trading players back and forth you got remember some of our trades we have done in our organization. When players get in trouble on teams sometimes they do anything to get rid of the headache. I know it wouldn't take Henderson to make that trade but you got to throw something at them to see if there any interest of them getting rid of him and if they are you properly recieve a counter proposal where do think trades start anyway.

He also plays a lot of League of Legends.

So, then, how I read that is:

Blazers recieve: Okafor and a 2nd round pick from League of Legends

76ers recieve: Henderson

LoL: Players to be named later.

Unless it's Minnesota, they usually begin with logic.

Ryan Anderson is being shopped around according to reports. Would you guys trade Meyers and a filler for him? Anderson is one of only 13 players averaging over 18 and 7 rebounds..

Meyers helps us lose. That's good enough for me.
