Joakim Noah remains unhappy with his standing with the Chicago Bulls.

Noah reportedly "still hasn't moved past losing his starting job" late in training camp, according to a source.

The source added Noah “hasn’t been a distraction by any means, but isn’t the biggest [Fred] Hoiberg fan these days.’’

As far as Hoiberg was concerned, Noah’s been very accepting of his new role.

Noah will be a free agent this offseason.

Bulls also have their own pick in the low 20s this season.

Lowe in his podcast today with Howard Beck floated the idea of Lopez for Meyers straight up, among a few other options. Says we aren't gonna add any picks.

Says POR was interested in Lopez pre-Olshey. We're not that far away from the playoffs, why not make a move to get there?

I don't hate the idea of Lopez, but I don't really like it either. Either way, it's something I'd much rather look at in the off-season.

So the Blazers old front office was interested in adding Lopez to a team that isn't here anymore, therefore we might be interested in him again even though all variables have changed?

Haha I know right..

I initially wasn't too excited when I heard the potential interest in obtaining Brook Lopez, but after watching the Blazers play this year, I think he might be just what the Blazers need.

As it stands now, the Blazers are a guard dominant scoring team. Dame (24.8), CJ (20.9), and Crabbe (11.2) are the teams top 3 scorers. Our 3 top rebounders, Plumlee (8.0), Davis (7.2), and Aminu (6.7), are all not good at scoring in the post. The other teams are able to trap and double team our guards, and not have to worry about any of our bigs doing any serious damage on the offensive end.

Brook Lopez has a 20.8 PER this year (career 20.9), averaging 19.7 point, 8.5 rebounds, and 2.0 blocks per game. The majority of his shots (60.4%) come from within 10 feet. He has a TS% of 53.7%. Having a scoring threat with his skills would significantly help balance the offensive load. And he's only 27 years old. The only concern I would have is his health. Out of his first 7 years in the league, he's been significantly injured during 2 of those years. He played 72 games last year.

He's signed this year for $19,689,000, then $21,165,675, and $22,642,350. With the salary cap going up, I don't think those are out of line amounts.

I think Brook Lopez would be a great pickup. The question is - what would we give up to get him? I'd give up anyone outside of Dame and CJ.

Gimme both Brook and Thad. Our backcourt plus the Nets' frontcourt is a contender.

Jerami Grant and Walter Tavares are two not-so-known assests I'd try to poach.

Here's a nice write up showing how the Blazers can save a bunch of money by taking on a big contract at the trade deadline. If no other moves are made, expect at least a deal like this to be made to save money.

Sure, we will take David Lee of your hands BOS but you are sending us at least a late first round pick to do it.

Boston only saves about 4 million in actual savings by dealing Lee. Can't see them giving up a first rounder for 4 million dollars. A second at most.

Miami might dumb Chris Andersen’s salary to save $ on the luxury tax. He has only played in 7 games this season.

He would not have a future on our team, or get much playing time this season. However, I can see NO taking on Andersen’s $5 million salary for one season, if the draft pick is high enough. As a side bonus, Andersen might be a decent mentor for our young bigs.

Who else has a bloated contract?

Bump.

Looking at potential salary dumps to acquire, possible guys to go after, to get a pick as incentive:

-DRose (1yr, 21mil)
-Monroe (2yrs 17 mil per)
-Henson (4yrs, 11 mil per)
-Gallo (2yrs, 16 mil per)
-Carroll (3yrs 15 mil per)
-Chandler (3 yrs, 13 mil per)
-Gay (2yrs, 13 mil per)
-Rubio (3yrs, 14 mil per)
-Faried (3 yrs, 13 mil per)
-Asik (4 yrs, 12 mil per)
-Wilson Chandler (3 yrs, 12 mil per)

DEN and MIL keep appearing often. DEN has their own lotto pick (#7 now), the Rockets' first pick (#16 now), and our lotto protected pick. MIL has its own lottery pick (#8 now) . PHX is another target. Gave up huge contracts to Chandler, Bled, and Knight. And they have their own lottery pick (#6 now) as well as the Cavs' first rounder (#28 now).

DEN is just screaming at me. They have 3 shitty contracts in Gallo, Chandler, and Faried, and are losing still. And 2 picks in the top 20.

I would take Chandler from Phoenix for their pick.

Chandler/Morris/pick for Hendo/Kaman/Leonard.

That team has no use for a guy that age, and they desperately want to dump Morris. I'd bail them out on both and give them Meyers, in return we possibly get another high pick.

Here's a list of possible targets:

Joe Johnson
Roy Hibbert
David Lee
Nene
Tyson Chandler
Nikola Pekovic

Most of these aren't long enough or bad enough to have to attach a first round pick. Some of these teams don't even have any assets to give. You might get a first for Chandler and Pekovic, but these contracts actually run pretty long. Don't know if its worth having that much dead weight unless the team believes it can really use them as players.

If you can get a late 1st or an early second for a salary dump you take it and run. Honestly I don't see it happening but there's a chance.

Why do they need to do that? There are much worse contracts in the NBA. I don't see his as that bad even though I not a huge fan of his overall game.

I see Gay as a guy who doesn't fit what Sacramento is wanting to do honestly and at the money he is making (not terrible but two more season after this iirc) they are probably looking to move him, in my proposed trade it leaves them with ~4 mil in cap space so they can go out and get a player who may have been off their radar because of the contract he was on.
