Lol we'd need to send WAY more than MeyersMeyers to Orlando for Aaron Gordon would be cool

I'm not so concerned about scoring from the PF position..Blazers have been there, done that for a long time now...and I want the PF to be the best defender on the team..We already have two defensive minded forwards that can't shoot.

I think he is more Blake Griffin type power forward (OBVIOUSLY not as good) than a tweener.Gordon isn't really a PF though. He's a tweener like aminu and harkless.
If they get him to agree to a $3M buyout and stretch it, his cap hit becomes $1m plus the LT on that.Agreed.
To get an idea why the Cavs are trying to move Varejao, he makes $9.6M this season. The Cavs team salary is at $109,270,293. They are over the tax line by $24,530,293. Their Luxury Tax bill is currently $61,988,599. If they could find a way to eliminate Varejao's $9.6M, that would result in a total savings of over $43M for the Cavs. They certainly have some financial incentive to trim where they can.
I posted this earlier, but here's a breakdown of all of the teams and their current CAP Space / Luxury Tax situation:

It looks like Varejao is guaranteed $19M this year and next. Why would Varejao give up $19M for a $3M buyout? If he's betting on making that up in free agency, that a huge gamble on his part, and not many players would take that risk.If they get him to agree to a $3M buyout and stretch it, his cap hit becomes $1m plus the LT on that.
I don’t see any trade that works with the Cavs that involves us taking on Varejao.
They do not have any draft picks until the next decade, and not one good young prospect on a contract past this season. The Cavs really emptied their asset closet to get Love.
Maybe he wants to play?It looks like Varejao is guaranteed $19M this year and next. Why would Varejao give up $19M for a $3M buyout? If he's betting on making that up in free agency, that a huge gamble on his part, and not many players would take that risk.
He wouldn't. Denny is dreaming and the man is already playing. He isn't going to magically play 30 mins a game somewhere else.It looks like Varejao is guaranteed $19M this year and next. Rip Hamilton accepted a similar buyout from the Pistons. He wouldn't. Denny is dreaming and the man is already playing. He isn't going to magically play 30 mins a game somewhere else.
Similar buyout to what you were discussing? No.Rip Hamilton accepted a similar buyout from the Pistons.

More like $.50 on the dollar.
I threw out a number, $3m because the math for the stretch is easy. Rip took $11M, owed $19M over 2 seasons. Varajao owed $19M over 2 seasons... Not similar at all /sarcasm.Similar buyout to what you were discussing? No.
Understood but the number is important because he isn't going to accept that low. So throwing that out just due to simple math bites you in the ass. Plenty of players that teams think will go for a buyout don't. You really have to put your best foot forward ($) if you go that direction and at this point I think CLE is thinking a trade is much more likely then him accepting a buyout (he actually likes it in CLE and wants to stay though - he is LeBron's top friend on the team according to reports).I threw out a number, $3m because the math for the stretch is easy. $11m stretched is $3.6m instead of ~$10M, saving significant cash and LT.
Rip signed a 3 year $15M contract with the Bulls, only $11M guaranteed and paid.
I think he'd probably rather do what Nash did in Canada and get involved with Brazilian National Team basketball..Yao is a titan in China..these guys are rock stars at home and have been paid pretty well over a careerMaybe he wants to play?
Just because he no longer plays for the Cavs, he'll still be Lebron's close friend..his career is sort of like Przybilla's at the end..game overUnderstood but the number is important because he isn't going to accept that low. I also wrote it depends on how Cleveland values whatever else they have to give up to get someone to take him. Can he whip Kaman one on one....?Varejao plays at a high level, on a top team. We would keep him. He might be our best big man.
Fixed!Varejao plays a few games a year when not injured at a high level, on a top team. We would keep him. He might be our best big man.

ELO...that's a 70's band...so ELO Hell?ELOHEL
I would fucking hate that fucker on my team. I could never support his kind of unsportsmanlike douche behavior. I'd be embarrassed if he were a Blazer.I mean, Beverly is a douche, but I'd love him on my team
He'd get injured within a week.Varejao plays at a high level, on a top team. We would keep him. He might be our best big man.
Triple microfracture knee surgery right as he lands in pdxHe'd get injured within a week.
Meh, lots of players fall into that category. Rodman, Bowen, rick fox, Matt Barnes, Hell even Ruben patterson. All have been good players that people like on their team, but hate on others.I would fucking hate that fucker on my team. I could never support his kind of unsportsmanlike douche behavior.
