Make it so. This would be like Second Christmas.
Better comparison might be Zach, if he were still on our roster but not playing (since Tinsley has basically been given the Terrell-Owens-in-Philly treatment); and to make the situations comparable, Rudy would have to have had a few years in the league and have proven himself capable of starting (as Dunleavy has for Indy).
So, IF all that were true, and I could trade Roy and Zach for an inferior-to-Roy-but-still-perennial-all-star player in his prime at my team's greatest position of need--Harris at PG, perhaps?--then I'd seriously consider it. If I had to choose between a Blake/Roy backcourt, or a Harris/Rudy one, and the latter saves my team money, then I probably take door #2.
This would be like the birth of Jesus, but with Jesus on steroids, and I mean the really good steroids.
When Joseph woke up, he did what the angel of the Lord had commanded him and took Mary home as his wife. But he had no union with her until she gave birth to a son. And he gave him the name A-Rod.
Do it KP! If we make a trade, i do think it would need to clear a player out of the SF and PG position, so trading Webster, Sergio and Raef for Wallace works for me...
Blake | Bayless
Roy | Rudy
Wallace | Batum
Aldridge | Outlaw
Oden | Pryzbilla.

(pipe dream since the Bobcats would almost certainly not go for it).
Trading for Josh Smith is interesting idea, and I agree that Atlanta would need to get a player like Stoudamire for them to consider it. He would certainly bring the energy and defensive ability we sorely need.
As I said, Atlanta would probably like this trade, since they need a big active big man, and it might even open the possibility of bringing back Childress. Wouldn't Phoenix rather have Smith themselves than Webster, Bayless, and Rudy? I don't think they are really going into full rebuild mode.
RLEC for Tayshawn Prince and Jason Maxiel. The salaries work. Our line-up would then be:
Blake/(Bayless or Sergio)
Roy/Rudy
Prince/Batum
LA/Maxiell
Oden/Joel.
It doesn't get rid of anyone, though. I just think Prince puts Portland over the top into contender status. Maxiel is an actual Power Forward, so that would be an upgrade.

3 way team deal between OKC, PHX and Por?

They would never do Raef for Prince straight up... and we NEED to get rid of some logjams... not losing anyone and just bringing in another SF makes things way to hectic.
Actually, they might. Their owner is in financial straights and Prince is their player with a contract longer then 2 years. It's a pure salary dump for sure. It also gives them the most money of any team in the summer of 2010, which they are already aggressively planning for.

Here is my take http://games.espn.go.com/nba/featur...3217&teams=22~22~22~4~10~4~10~22~22&te=&cash=
Portland receives defensive minded starters with playoff experience at PG and SF. Portland also gets a backup PF that should be the garbage man type of player some people see the need for.
Houston gets more options at the offensive end. Trading an older player with a bigger contract for a younger player with a smaller contract should be seen as a win for them.
Chicago gets cap relief and a PG that should be a great back up to Rose.
