Wow. Thought he'd cost more than that. We still got like a mil left + ~2.7mil exception. JO would be perfect and another PG on the cheap probably and we're set.

Wow--I'm shocked. This is really turning out to be a fantastic offseason. We're going to have an entire bench lineup of players who don't suck!

What is Wright good at? I ask in genuine ignorance.

Strengths: He has a long wingspan and rebounds well for his position. Can shoot pretty well from mid-range and deep. Defense is good and improving. Solid floor vision and willing passer. Becoming Batum basically.

Weakness; attacking the rim (which I wanted a SF who would do this)

He led the NBA in 3s at golden state right?

37% career 3-point percentage (on lots of attempts) isn't bad.

Here's a somewhat pessimistic view of D Wright from rotoworld.com:

Blazers agreed to terms with G/F Dorell Wright on a two-year, $6 million contract. Now three years removed from his fluky breakout season in Golden State, Wright will slide in as a rotational wing in Portland. Wesley Matthews, Nicolas Batum, C.J. McCollum and possibly Allen Crabbe will all be getting significant on the wings as well. Wright shot just 39.6 percent from the field and averaged 9.2 points a night for a depleted Sixers team last season. He got outplayed by Damien Wilkins. Jul 6 - 1:55 PM

He actually had his career high in PER last year.

Bill Simmons ‏@BillSimmons
I love what Rip City did this summer. Went from zero depth whatsoever to Thomas Robinson, Robin Lopez, Dorrell Wright + CJ McCollum. Nice.

I bet Elliot Williams is pissed!

I like this move and generally what the Blazers are doing this offseason.

This is pretty accurate. Hes a very good spot up shooter and solid- but not that great- defender. Pretty weak handles and absolutely cannot force his way to the rim, usually prefers the path of least resistance which is pulling up for a mid-range J. He can pass it decently and will make some really slick plays from time to time, but mostly hes a 3 and D guy who can get scorching hot from 3 and nail like 8 on a good night.

Good move so the Blazers don't have to rely on Crabbe and McCollum so much

Should be plenty of minutes

Our lineups are looking halfway decent now - especially if you figure in the almost guaranteed improvement in our younger players.

Lillard l Wes l Batum l Lamarcus l Lopez

McCollum l Crabbe? l Wright l Robinson l Leonard

Barton l Claver

Either way, we've really gotten a lot of shooting to go around now.

Roles also appear pretty well defined, with the exception of Crabbe v Barton for the 4th guard spot.

Dorrell Wright is pretty much Martell Webster fwiw

...who signed a 4year, $22M contract earlier this week, and whom many people also would have like to see come back to Portland as Nic's backup. So what you're saying is, Wright for 6M over 2 years is a bit of a steal.

I couldn't agree more--repped!

Given that Martell just resigned with Washinton at 4 years/$22 million, Wright looks like a bargain at 2 years/$6 million. Way to clip those coupons Neal!

The Oklahoma City Thunder had made Wright a priority in free agency, but ultimately Blazers general manager Neil Olshey secured Wright in the late stages of the courtship.

Baffling to me how he'd bypass the chance of playing for a contender to come to PDX. Good work, Neil.

I like the signing for depth, but that part just makes it extra sweet for me.
