I don't support eugenics at all.

Here's a crazy idea. If someone doesn't want to have kids, buy a jimmy hat or don't fuck. If someone cares about birth control for all, start a charity and distribute it. Why does the government have to do everything?

Because it isn't as simple as you say. If you don't want kids, don't fuck, isn't reality. And it seems that what you think is fair, let them live a hard life because of their mistake seems to harsh to many. If the gov't can help to reduce teen pregnancy, the whole country benefits.

Yep. I'm in the minority. Of course, getting pregnant and having to live with that responsibility can help two people to grow up. Teen pregnancy is none of the Government's business.

I like Maxie's position, but I am ready to break from the moral conservatives position.
Very difficult to do too, since the idea of abortion is completely repugnant to me.

Basically I would severely restrict any aid to single moms and their children and I would have the Federal government Pay for all abortions for any one that applies and require it for any woman that already is receiving aid.

As repugnant as abortion is, no woman alone should be required to raise children she does not want nor has the resources to provide for their care.

We have more than enough feral children in this country and what the hell, they grow up to be Democrats anyway.

I can't make the relevant connection you suggest. Like Alaska receives way more federal money than it send because it has nearly the lowest population of any state and right close to the top in receiving military spending per capita.

It is difficult for me to relate what I posted to what you posted but maybe you can help?

You're making a crack that democrat kids (or democrats period) are taking more money from the government.

the "feral" children crack (which, unless you're an actual loser and not just one on TV) seems to be a comment about young or poor children needing the government teet in their lives (as adults).

So it's funny that the states that rely most on the government are the states that are the most conservative and non liberal/democrat.

try again, here is a state by state chart that also shows an increase or decrease. A lot of the "red" states are on a downward trend..oh, and the more recent figures once again are higher in the blue states than these reflect.

In 2000, the United States spent $25.5 billion dollars on welfare...

And like a well-oiled machine, the powers-that-be keep the lower classes squabbling over pennies and fighting with each other rather than seeing that they have a common enemy.
$25B!?! That's what we're talking about taking away peoples rights over? For fucks sake! The amount of corporate welfare that's being given away to the very richest of the rich makes the amount we spend on social welfare look like a dollar bill that's been used to pick up dog shit.

As for the OP, the only part that sounds at all reasonable is limiting what food stamps can be spent on. But I certainly wouldn't limit it to just rice & cheese. The entire produce section would be fair game. Actual milk, or non-dairy substitutes. Non-processed meat (no Jimmy Dean, but yes to the butcher's counter).

Published july 2011 as you stated, what you missed is the data is only from 2007 to 2008 and percent change. I know your not a stats guy, but it is very hard to establish any trends with that limited data.
