In the past I’ve said you post like a 5th grader...... I might have offended some 5th graders

I guess you missed the "occasionally" part. You also missed the part about the deep playoff runs. The Warriors have 31 games on national TV this season. Many of these are on the road against East Coast teams which will be played during prime time viewing for East Coast audiences. They also have some early start (5:00pm) home weekend games that will also be broadcast when folks on the East Coast are still awake.

And then there are the playoffs, with many additional Saturday and Sunday afternoon games, plus road games against an East Coast team three years in a row.

Here's where that "occasionally" part comes in for the Blazers: "Eleven games will be nationally televised, eight of which are home games." So, all but three of the Blazers nationally televised games are at home. The three road games that are on national TV this season are at SAC, at LAC and at MIN. They have ZERO nationally televised games with an East Coast start time. And even the one game in the Central Time Zone against MIN had an 8:00pm (CST) start time, which means a 9:00pm East Coast start time - assuming it starts on time, as the 2nd game of a double header.

As far as the playoffs go, GSW has played 8 games in CLE the last three years. The Blazers have played ZERO playoff games against an Eastern Conference team since 1992.

Do you really not get this? Do you really think viewers on the East Coast have the opportunity to watch as many POR games as they do GSW games? Really? You seem like you're arguing just to argue.

I don't understand this. Curry is just as far west and won 2 MVPs. Same with Kobe and Magic.

Sorry you don’t understand. Not much to not understand.

SF and LA are much bigger. But in general, media forgets about the West.

Wow. Thanks for breaking that down. About as bleak as I thought. Seems like we will be waiting till ET, Moe, and Meyers contracts become expiring before we see any real improvement of our cap situation. And that’s at the earliest.

I was thinking about this more this morning and the only way it would be remotely possible is if Paul George pulled a Chris Paul. He told the Clippers that he was leaving and that the only way they could get something for him is if they traded him to Houston and he'd opt in to the final year of his deal. Then the Blazers could offer something like Harkless, Aminu, and future picks for him. We'd get one year of PG and own his bird rights after that year so we could re-sign him to a max deal.

So this is all that has to happen for this to work out (ha ha):
1) Paul George would have to agree to make over $10 million less next year and push off signing a big max deal for another year. It would be a significant risk for him since he already had a pretty devastating leg injury.

2) Dame and CJ would have to convince Paul George to forego free agency this summer and play for that one year at less money instead of going to LA or staying in OKC. Olshey couldn't talk to PG or his agent about PG so this would be 100% on Dame and CJ to convince him like Harden did with Chris Paul.

3) OKC would have to want to take back whatever we are offering. You would think they wouldn't want to have another star leave for nothing but they've also gone pretty deep into the luxury tax for this year's team that hasn't really been worth it so maybe their cheap owner would just let him walk.

Still highly unlikely but probably the only way it could work this summer.

We can't do this to get PG, because we'll be doing this to get LeBron.

Trade Harkless, Aminu, and our 1st twice? That sounds like something Han Solo would try to pull on the Guavian Death Gang and Kanjiklub.

Are you calling Aminu a Rathtar?

In all seriousness though any of these moves are completely unrealistic so if we got PG to come here first why wouldn't Lebron then come here for the tax-MLE?

That's option 2, obviously, but the nakedness of asking Nike to give him another half billion dollars as part of his MLE deal would probably be scrutinized by the NBA...

If we get the 3rd seed, represent well in the playoffs, AND added Paul George then I think we'd have a shot at LeBron. I know he's saying he wants a max deal wherever he goes but he'd have to consider winning a title in Portland pretty good for his legacy.

I normally am in the keep CJ camp but we could trade him for LeBron if we had to.

You can’t have a Big 5 if you trade away one of them!

True, well we could sign someone like Chris Paul to a vet-min contract to take CJ's place or we have the Trade Exception to land someone.

OR the Cavs could just trade us LeBron for Evan Turner and Meyers Leonard so we could keep CJ. That would be nice of them, we could send them a fruit basket or something to say thank you.

Portland has a grand total of ONE championship and you want to un-retire their jerseys? Sorry, GTFOH.

We're not the Celtics, Lakers, Bulls, or Spurs. We're lucky to have one and those pioneers, dare I say Trail Blazers, earned that ring for Rip City. There's a reason why their number is retired!

If anything should be retired, it’s your account after that soft post! #BAM
