How does that number look if we send Baldwin back to the GLeague?

Two-way contracts don’t count. The player can’t play in the playoffs though unless the contract is converted to a regular contract.

Marco Belinelli, Hawks Reportedly Finalizing Contract Buyout

That would be nice. The Blazers could sign him, but they just traded Vonleh to get under the cap so its not likely.

Right when the season ends I believe.

I think if we wanted to add a shooter, we'd have to find one in the g league with no NBA experience. Even then, I'm not sure we can afford it, assuming Baldwin will count for 900k.
Salaries are pro-rated for the entire season. Blazers have played 55 games, so there's 27 left (or 33%).

Bladwin's minimum salary would count for approximately $400k (1/3 of the $1.3M minimum salary for 1 year of service).

As a veteran, Belinelli charge would be calculated based off a 2-year minimum contract (the NBA pays the rest). He would count for approximately $500k (1/3 fo the $1.5M min salary for 2 years of service).

We could afford one, but not both.

We can sign Papagiannis with the minimum... a couple years from being lotto pick... Blazers should really look at signing him

Looks like the deadline to sign a guy to a two way deal was January 15, so that’s not an option either.

Marco can definitely spread the floor and will fit well in Houston. But with his lack of D I think we might be better off using Pat. Both are 6'5". Marco is a better 3pt shooter but that's about it.

So we can sign a guy for upto a 1.5 mil/yr contract and still come away below the tax.

Portland has 2 open roster spots. They need to fill at least 1 with a Minimum contract.

Any suggestions on who the pick up?

I'm thinking Baldwin IV is a no brainer. I'm also hoping Portland picks up Woods out of the d-leauge on a minimum contract.

Anyone else we ought to be looking at? Again, they have to be minimum contracts....

Wait...Stephen Baldwin is available?

He's the 4th Baldwin, right? :dunno:

They have 2 weeks to fill the last roster spot. Since they're already paying Baldwin a salary amount that is at the NBA minimum, they can simply declare his contract as part of the normal roster to fill that last spot without adding salary. If they signed someone, they'd go over the luxury tax.

I'd like to actually see him before we do that. Just sayin.

They still have Willcox on a two way contract

Wilcox ain’t playing this year, he’s irrelevant.
every player on a cheap contract at the end of the bench is irrelevant until they make the leap...they are sparring partners at practice
