Oregon dad-of-two, 45, is shot dead by BMW driver in road rage incident on way home from beach after accidentally splashing WINDSHIELD FLUID on killer's car as it tried to pass
  • Dennis Anderson, 45, was shot to death along Highway 18 in Oregon by a BMW driver whose car was hit with windshield wiper fluid from Anderson's vehicle
  • Anderson, who was coming back from the beach with his partner, Brandy Goldsbury, was chased along the road by a black BMW 3 Series car last week
  • Goldsbury said the driver tried to push them off the highway before they stopped on the side of the road to call for help
  • She said the unidentified BMW driver shot Anderson with what appeared to be a semi-automatic weapon before driving away
  • Goldsbury described Anderson as a kind and caring father of two teenage girls who also took her son from a previous marriage under his wing
An Oregon father of two was shot and killed by a BMW driver on his way home from the beach after accidentally splashing windshield wiper fluid on the killer's car.

Dennis Anderson, 45, a father of two teenage girls and a stepson, was out in Lincoln City last week with his partner of 18 years, Brandy Goldsbury, when they were targeted by an unidentified man riding a black BMW 3 Series car, The Oregonian reported.

Goldsbury, 46, said the BMW was trying to pass them just as Anderson sprayed wiper fluid on his windshield, some of which she said may have gotten on the other car, infuriating the driver.

The 3 Series passed them without issue, they believed.

But shortly afterwards, the couple spotted the car parked on the side of the road - and were horrified to see if begin chasing them as they drove past it.

Goldsbury said the sports car's driver pursued them along Highway 18 and began firing shots, eventually striking Anderson.

'The last thing that [Dennis] said was, 'Oh my god, they shot me,'' Goldsbury said. 'By the time I got to him, blood was coming out of his mouth.'

Now Goldsbury is asking for help in finding her partner's killer, while loved ones set up a GoFundMe page to help support the grieving family.

Recalling the incident, Goldsbury told the Oregonian that she was startled when she and Anderson came across the angry BMW driver again while on the highway.

She said they had just arrived at a rest area on their way home to Tigard when they found the BMW parked on the side of the road.

'We drove by it, and then it got behind us,' Goldsbury told the local outlet. 'And then when the lanes started to turn to one again, the car started driving really close to the back of us almost like it was going to hit us.

'And then it would go into oncoming traffic and kind of swerve towards us, like trying to push us to the side of the forest.'

Goldsbury said she was able to call 911 and flag down other drivers for help after the suspect shot Anderson and fled the scene.

She said one Good Samaritan stopped and helped perform CPR on Anderson until paramedics arrived, but the victim was reported dead at the scene.

Police are still investigating the shooting and described the suspect as a short, 25-year-old male with medium complexion and short dark hair.

Mourning the loss of her partner, Goldsbury, a medical assistant at Oregon Health & Science University, described Anderson as a kind and caring father who also took her son from a previous marriage under his wing.

'He's one of those pushover dads,' Goldsbury told the Oregonian. 'They would ask for something absolutely outrageous, and he would be like 'no' and then I would turn around and he'd be doing it, making it happen for them.'

Goldsbury said his daughters meant the world to Anderson, who recently quit a pharmacy job to deliver pizzas part-time in order to spend more time with his kids.

The family's dream was to buy a home in Lincoln City, the home of Anderson's favorite hamburger restaurant.

A Massachusetts native, Anderson fell in love with Oregon when driving across the country to meet Goldsbury after connecting in an online chatroom.

Although she freaked out at his sudden and surprising feat, telling him to go home, she said she quickly reconsidered.

'And then he came back, and then he never left,' Goldsbury said.

Goldsbury and police have called on the public to help track down the person behind the sensless murder.

'They need to realize what they did and how they impacted not only me and my family but our community,' Goldsbury told KGW 8.

They’ll eventually find this coward and then he’ll get fudgepacked in jail for the rest of his time

I just can't imagine being that angry at the world.

I don't know if it's angry at the world, as much as it's just one of those people who are weirdly obsessed with their cars and over-react to any perceived damage done to it.

But...I can't imagine how someone could get so mad over windshield wiper spray...I wonder if it was something else that triggered something, and that was the 'straw that broke the camels back'.

NOT condoning what that POS did, just wonder what the hell happened. I can't think of anything that would justify it.

In my experience, the guys who are overly protective of their cars are all 100% douche canoes.

My friend almost shot someone in a road rage once. We were both riding our bikes when some douchebag in a spanking new sports car thought it was funny to mess with us by running right up behind us. We gave way so he could pass but dude kept staying behind us to do the same shit. I saw my friend reach for his gun (I knew he was packing heat) and rode up to him to stop him. That douchebag didn't know how close he was to being riddled with bullets that day.

It takes a special kind of ass clown to do shit like that (not what your friend did). Like, why even harass people while in your car?

Good thing the other driver didn't have a knife instead.
Getting knifed to death doesn't sound like fun either. Or just getting run over when you get out of your car.

Get back to me when you figure out how to eliminate 400 million guns in this country without disarming law abiding, responsible citizens decades before criminals.

Imagining a world where law abiding citizens have no guns, but criminals still do. Because criminals don't follow the law...
I'm sure if this couple just called the police it would have all turned out OK. Police are very responsive... Out in the forest... And cellular service is great coming over the mountain...

No thanks. I'll have my EDC for self defense, as will my wife.

Good lesson to be learned here, only harass people like that who are riding bicycles. Their spandex bike shorts make it easy to see if they are packing a gun.

Gives a whole new meaning to the question "is that a gun in your pocket, or are you happy to see me?"

You knw, the more I think about this, the more I'm thinking it's a case of a hired gun sorta thing.

Its becoming more and more prevalent. People feel untouchable in their cars. Ive been saying for years. Driving and traffic brings out the worst in everyone.

Boston drivers are nuts. I get off an exit that has road construction going on and a sign that says 30 mph so I safely go 35 mph off of it. I have a woman behind me going 55 mph flipping me off and slamming on her horn.

Oregon drivers don't get enough credit. Except this douchebag in the BMW of course.

Part of thinks a lot of the people who complain about Oregon drivers either A: haven't ever actually driven many places and don't know or B: just like to cite things that make Oregon look bad.

Try driving in San Diego or LA...it's a lot worse.

Seattle Drivers are the worst. They are weirdly slow and then passive aggressive while they drive.

Oregon drivers are either slow or psychotic.

LA drivers are bad. They get worse depending on how bad the neighborhood is.

For sure. Idaho drivers are nuts too.

In Idaho we saw people at 4 way blinking red lights just barrel through at full speed. And others didn't take turns and just went when they felt like.

The thing that makes me absolutely rage in Oregon is driving I-84 east. 3 lanes. 1 lane is to go I-205 North. You have people always stopping in the middle of the second lane on the freeway trying to cut others and merge in front to get on I-205 North.

One of these days someone is gonna get absolutely smashed doing that. That lane isn't a merge lane. Its a full speed lane out to Gresham.

I really wish they built a bridge between Washougal and Gresham/Troutdale. That would help with traffic a ton.

San Fran seemed like some crazy drivers.

But idk. Iowa, Boston, Ohio and Idaho drivers have been the worst on my trip. Don't get me started on those semi truck drivers.

Exactly. I drove through LA last spring. It reminded me of that old joke: What do Californians call "following distance"? A waste of public resources.

Driving in Chicago is no picnic either. I looked at every car as if they were packing heat. If you aren't going to go 30 mph over the speed limit, don't even get on the highway there.

I felt uncomfortable driving through chicago on the highway.

I feel like Boston is worse though.

The guy shot him from a moving car? That's crazy. Depending on what vehicle I'm in, I would run that mother fucker off the road in his little shitty beamer. Our F150 would make short work of that asshole.

Not according to the OLive story:

“We drove by it, and then it got behind us,” Goldsbury said. “And then when the lanes started to turn to one again, the car started driving really close to the back of us almost like it was going to hit us. And then it would go into oncoming traffic and kind of swerve towards us, like trying to push us to the side of the forest.

She said the other car did this a couple of times, so she told Anderson to pull over and call 911. He did. He also got out of the car while Goldsbury dialed, she said. That’s when the driver of the other car stopped parallel to them and started shooting into the car, she said. “The last thing that he said was, ‘Oh my god, they shot me.’” Goldsbury said."

Yeah, my cousin out there drove us around and was absolutely flying down the freeways.

Miami is crazy as shit too.
