I don't trust the government to only convict guilty people, so I don't support giving them the power to kill people. If found guilty he should get life without the possibility of parole, IMO.
Life in prison removes this person from society.
Killing him will cost more than keeping him in prison for life.
And I certainly don't support making it easier for our government to kill people.
Animals are put down because they don't have rights and we don't want to waste resources on keeping them away from society.
People have rights. Those rights make it more expensive and resource intensive to kill people than jail them for life.
Regardless of what a person does, we should not remove the rights of every American so we can kill people who are not a threat to society.
Prisoners are not a threat to society. There is no need to allow the government to kill them.
When does an obvious threat to society get their rights removed? Felons lose some rights. If for sure guilty, people like this deserve no rights and should be removed from society.
killing them only costs more because of how long it takes. This has been discussed. It only costs more becuase we make it cost more.
This is indisputable and something you continually omit when trying to make the same point about the costs.
You really should remove the cost equation out of your counter, everyone knows why it costs more and everyone knows we can make it cost less.
Some people deserve nothing more than a fast track removal.
