Mario Cristobal did the U of O (and the state of Oregon) a huge favor by weaseling out of his contract and going to Miami. He wasn't even a particularly good game coach. That said, I'm still salty about the bullshit, disingenuous way he went about it and have taken a certain vicarious pleasure in Miami's struggles under him. So watching them lose to an unranked Syracuse team yesterday and tumble seven spots all the way out of the Top Ten has me laughing my ass off. We lucked out with Lanning.
So this has probably been discussed at length somewhere...could someone that's smarter than me help me understand...is the Big 10 title game...a bad thing? Ohio State gets a week off now so if we lose the Big 10 title game it's uh worst case scenario right and we'll play one more game than them? My brain isn't braining but it doesn't seem quite right.
there has been a lot of talk, by some influential people IIRC, that in an age of 12 team playoffs the conference championship games are an anachronism and should be eliminated

I don’t think they’ll eliminate the CCG because it generates a ton of moneyCollege football is a corporate product that has no need for such cultural traditions.
However, eliminating them will kill one of the few remaining traditions of the college football experience.
It's just chopping down all the trees lining the sidewalk to widen a street by a lane.
Happens all the time, and it's sad every time.
