I just find this coaching staff to be extremely underwhelming.

They're world class recruiters...... but not really good at the coaching part of coaching.
For me its herbert. He’s got the NFL body, but he’s never put it together for me. He hesitates a lot. Doesnt throw guys open, has accuracy issues. He’s a very good game manager in college, the NFL talk is mostly potential because of his physique. He needs to start looking like the best player out there, he needs to take over games.

The defense has been coached pretty well IMO. The offense looks like they ran out of new material in the 2nd quarter...

I dont know why I still get excited for CFB every year. The PAC12 sucks, I guess we have to hope washington wins out... yay.

Yeah, that was pretty unimpressive. That plus the wimpy play calling that was nothing but short passes and runs in the second half did nothing to make a case that Herbert deserves serious Heisman consideration.
You could tell most of the 2nd half they were just trying to run out the clock. Weak. Sorry but Oregon deserves the rep theyve gotten, which is painful to admit but man that team...

Gotta be embarrassing when your senior Heisman hopeful gets outplayed by a true freshman.

If you're comparing the last drive of the game for each, Nix was better. Outside of that, I'm not sure how anyone could say Nix (13/31, 177 yds) was better than Herbert (28/37, 242 yds).

Yes, but when it mattered who was making plays, like the 4th quarter... It sure wasnt Herbert.

Was that because of Herbert of a game plan he was given? Tough to say since we don't know what he is being told to do, but I have a hunch.

He did a good job, especially considering the missing receivers. It’s a different game. He hit a guy in the chest with a TD that was dropped. He outplayed Nix in every way. Nix did a nice job at the end for a few minutes.

His best throw was to Webb in the end zone when he threw it up for him.

But my problems with him have been the same every year irregardless of his coaches. I get that the physical gifts are there, but he just never makes big plays, when the team needs a big play. I would guess that part of it is play calling / coaching, but he certainly shares some blame.

Yeah they squandered opportunities and it wasn't entirely his fault. I just think at some point, if you’re a great college QB, you have to be the guy that looks one step ahead of the defense.

They cougd it.

Sorry you guys had to endure watching football at all.
