Wasn't there a whole thread about an article which claimed blacks could not be racist because racism was as much about the power gulf as about skin color? I thought Dviss came down on the side of the article's author. Am I misremembering?
Go reread the thread. You are misremembering.

Really? So he agreed with the author that blacks could not be racist?

If I'm misreading that, then I apologize.

But...if that's right....I mean, do I need to say anything else here?

Gotcha. Jews, Mexicans, and Asians are all inferior to black people when it comes to racism. Gotcha.

I'm glad they have civil rights, and I've never protested that. So why am I roped into being a KKK member because I MIGHT vote for Trump?

And that's according to HIM by the way. He said that, not me. Republicans, to him, are automatically racist.

I can't win against that mentality, and it only serves to hold this country back.
Jews have the anti defamation league watching out for racism and other forms of hate directed at jews. Nobody complains about them like they do Sharpton or Jesse Jackson.

Absolutely black people have a special relationship with racism. There are two constitutional amendments and numerous civil rights laws passed specifically to remedy this. The Supreme Court in a number of rulings classify blacks as a special group when it comes to hate crimes and civil rights (gays never were considered such, nor asians nor jews...).

Republicans, like you, have earned their reputation. They once were the party of abolishion and civil rights. They somehow turned their backs on this great legacy and clearly attract bigoted and racist elements. I don't think they are racist per se, but they sure don't stand againt racism or stand up for civil rights.

The two pictures are meant as a lesson. The first group is highly motivated to march on DC because of the n word. The second is the only march I could find that represents any motivation based on the word honkie.

Get it?

Again....for the 100th time....I've never denied the black struggle for civil rights in this country. The fact that, just 50 years ago, they were considered second-class citizens is something that should be in every history book.

Yes, black people have a special connection (unfortunately) with racism in this country. That cannot be denied.

But I am sorry...all racism should be treated the same with equal disdain. It is RACISM. It's racist when a cross is burned and a black man lynched from a tree. And it is racism when people are called rednecks, honkys, and crackers because of their fucking political party affiliation.

In fact, it's not even that racist. It's just stupid and offensive.

It's also racism when your fucking candidate openly says "white people don't know what it's like to be poor".

Need proof? Go to the Republican caucus in Texas or some other southern state, and ask the supporters and the candidates about their views on black people. Specifically, ask them this: "so what you think about them niggers up north?" and see what kind of response you get. Be sure and ask it to one of their black supporters too....because there are plenty of them. Especially supporting Trump.

Be sure and call them racist as they're escorting you out of the building in disgust.

Or go ask Ben Carson about his racist beliefs. Because, remember....he's a Republican, so he's automatically racist by default.

So Republicans are racist? Fine. So is Sanders, since he believes there's no such thing as poor white people; that somehow, only black people can be poor.

You see how that works now? As much as you want your pie and eat it to, the point to all of this is that racism is a two-way street. It is offensive to EVERYONE. It's offensive to me when people like Dviss accuse me of being racist because of my political affiliations, and it's offensive when white people call black people niggers.

Until we acknowledge ALL racism in this country...as I have been saying...this disgusting issue will continue to divide us. Because I'll tell you: the majority of white people don't like being called racist; either because they're white ("White Privilege"), or because of their political affiliations.

I'm out. My cat has a vet appointment this afternoon, and I've been up all night working on various things. I need sleep.

Racist is not the same thing is racial.

Racism by definition has a component of one race being superior to another.

A group of black kids beating up a white one is not racist. The black kids do not think the black race is superior to the white race. It looked like more of a revenge thing or a turf thing. It was certainly racial - they picked on the white kid because he was white.

In post after post, you keep proving your ignorance. You can post a bunch of "racist" things and then claim to not be racist. It is impossible to ignore the bunch of racist things in your posts.

You're so full of it that it is not even funny.

You said so yourself: they picked on him because he was white. They thought they were superior to him. Why the fuck else did they bully him? Because he wears glasses or something?

Sure, it may be an isolated case, but it is STILL RACISM.

Nope.

They did not pick on him because they thought blacks are s superior race to whites.

Not racism.

It is a hate crime.

The black kids should be arrested and prosecuted.

Even dviss1 agrees with this.

So.....it's racial, but not racist? Because "Racist" implies that you believe your race is superior to others?

But....it's a hate crime....because....they bullied him because he was white? But not because they thought that they were superior to their victim racially?

Jesus fucking Christ. Okay. You're right. Perhaps I was ignorant on the technicalities of this. But it's no wonder people confuse the two.

So....oh wow. I have so many questions now. I don't even know where to begin.

Better.

It's not just about technicalities. It's about actual racism.

Actual racism is rare except in the case of how blacks are treated every day. For all the laws we've passed to improve things, and all the generations that have passed with improved attitudes, there are still a gazillion laws written into the books of most (if not all) states, cities, counties, etc., by racists in previous eras. Not just laws, but regulations by industries and businesses.

That's just scratching the surface.

So when a black man like dviss1 speaks up, he's not whining, he's giving you the benefit of his experience.

I have never done that. Bump the thread.

Eh. I was on food stamps for 2 months when I lost a job. I wouldnt have minded taking a drug test. Im tired of seeing people trade food stamps for cash so they can buy pot.

This is the silliest notion I've ever heard. I can guarantee you no one is doing this. Selling food stamps for money to buy crack yeah maybe. To buy weed? Come on now...

Like I said, it's very possible that I misremember your response to the thread, but it's not important enough to me to look it up.

So... again tell me how Trump is a racist, using Denny's definitions above?

So... again tell me how Trump is a racist, using Denny's definitions above?

I'm not sure he's racist, but he's making direct appeals to racists.

“When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best. They’re not sending you. They’re not sending you. They’re sending people that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems with us. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people.”

This implies he believes all but "some" illegal immigrants are as bad as the racists want to believe.

Denny has put his blinders on.
There are more.

1 Based on racial intolerance

2 Discriminatory especially on the basis of race

Then racism.

2. Discriminatory or abusive behavior towards members of another race.
I think pounding the shit out of a person of another race fits here. What was that game last year? Where they were trying to knock out people with one punch? Can't remember the name.

It's definitely a stupid comment by trump.

Have you lived in Mexico denny? Most of the people that live there do not want to move to the usa. They love their country.

Yep. By the numbers, 1/10th of their population lives here.

As far as I am concerned a mexican who lives here is just that. A mexican. Mexican citizen.

We don't have laws against foreigners owning property or having many rights citizens do. In fact, foreigners within our borders are subject to the equal protection of all our laws.

It is my thought, when unsure of a derogatory thing about another person, it would be best if you left it unsaid.

It would be left unsaid except for his bigoted statements - statements a racist would say.

I am concerned about your last paragraph. Not for any racial reasons. It just has always seemed weird to me that people from say the Phillipines could buy a bunch of land in the usa, but I can't buy the same type of land without being married to a citizen or by putting it in a citizens name.

Possible, but a stretch. Either way, Donald Trump is not a racist, or at least can be proved by what he has said towards Mexicans, or the Muslim religion. So people that are insinuating that are completely wrong.

I will say this. I do not believe in illegal immigration; the damage that these people do to the environment at our borders is disgusting and that is putting it lightly. I have friends who live in AZ, they have sent some seriously outrageous pictures of the 'illegal trails'.

What I have said is that racism doesn't affect us equally.

I guess that could be true in some cases. Not sure how you mean it though.
Given this definition of racism, "Discriminatory or abusive behavior towards members of another race"
I can't see it coming my way except as words that mean nothing. The physical abuse has been attempted a few time, but that didn't work.
So what would the unequal affect?

?

I'm pretty sure the Japanese (Sony) bought Columbia Pictures (it's now Sony Pictures).

And

He paints a group of millions of people as rapists and murderers, based upon their ethnicity. I think that's at least bigotry.

Sony pictures isn't real estate. I'm talking about land in other countries. You don't see any problem in other countries buying up land in the usa, but not allowing us the same courtesy in their country ?

Nope. We sell property to foreigners because it brings foreign capital into our economy.

Other countries can do what they want. Whatever we're doing makes us the #1 economy in the world. Whatever the other countries do, they're not the biggest economy.

If you like, you can buy a chateau in France.
