OT- Around the NBA

Just dawned on me, including playoffs and preseason, the Lakers have lost 8 straight! You gotta love that.

LA fans desperately wanting to trade Pau.

Would you guys be open to giving up Felton/Crash for Blake/Pau/Pick?

It would kill our FA hopes for next season, but either LA or Pau can take over C full time and make a formidable duo up front. Then again, there's a lot of duplicity with LA and Pau.

While I think Pau would be an upgrade over Gerald, it would be a huge downgrade at PG for us, and with Pau we still wouldn't be contenders. If the deal could get us a championship right now I'd consider it, but since not I'd rather keep the youth and salary flexability. Pau also won't have terribly much trade value being on that bloated contract.

Just looked at LA's schedule.

They're @ UTA next (3rd game in a row).
vs. NYK on Thursday
home/home against DEN on Sat/SUN
vs HOU next Tuesday
@ POR next Thursday

That is just brutal. I can legitimately see them coming into the RG with a 2-5 record.

After looking at all the results so far; I feel like the teams that can somehow really bring it every night are gonna have great records. Hopefully the Blazers can keep up their past success in usually beating teams that they are better than; home and away.

I'm not sure how good they will be, but Rubio and Williams will make me tune in and watch them on league pass. Rubio looks like a rookie Sergio? The reads Sergio made in this game were amazing.

Usually a few teams wil have injuries dropping them from the pack, but right now I agree I don't see any pushovers. Especially on the road.

On the road, you're right. But I can see the young teams (Minny and Sacramento, especially) being especially bad away from home.

That said, there's always anomalies in the early going. I think Dallas is going to be a lot better and Sacramento is going to be a lot worse. Call me crazy...

The Heat push the ball every time down the floor.

The Chip Kelly effect.

Can't wait to see lakers have their first 0-3 start in over 20 years.

Pushing the ball gets easy baskets, keeps the defense off balance and usually increases FTA and gets the opposing team into foul trouble causing rotation issues that gets them out of sinc. It's not a complicated formula

That's how you win games in the long run

I'll admit, I was dead wrong about the guy. I thought with his ground-bound game he'd be a really pedestrian NBA player. He's turned himself into a total fucking stud.

Darko on the other hand ... jesus that guy blows goats. I'm not even remotely a T-Wolves fan and watching his shitty, lackadaisical play makes me angry.

Kevin Love is a fucking man possessed getting to the foul line so far tonight:

1st quarter 14-15 from the foul line ... insane

He is playing well. But the Buck fans are getting pissed at the superstar status this guy is getting. And I would agree with them. I would say about 7 of those free throws in the first quarter were bullshit. Including the 1st three pointer he took when he leaned into the defender. Wasn't that exactly why they changed the rule this year? I think the ref forgot.
None-the-less he looks to be in great shape.

LOL ya. That team has a ways to go. Nice foundation with Love, Williams and Rubio though

Rubio is terrible, Williams doesn't play defense, and Love thinks he's a franchise player, when he's really a great third option.

I don't see how Minny is better before they have to start shelling out contracts to Love, Beasely, etc.

Rick will need to teach them how to play team defense if they are going to start winning. Right now, they can't stop anyone from scoring.

BNM

You really think Rubio is terrible?

Miami's found their PG of the future. Norris Cole. Baller.
