Wade just twisted his ankle far worse than Camby did. Ouch.

Dwight shot 53% on FTA's which is better than letting him shoot field goals where he'd probably convert about 60% of them and it beats letting the magic shoot 47% on threes all night (with an eFG% of 70.5%). I thought it was a pretty brilliant tactic, the main problem is that he just ran out of big people to foul him at the end.

The other problem is it puts the other team in the penalty VERY soon. So, any ticky-tack foul on one of Howard's much better free throw shooting teammates is pretty much an automatic two point gift. Hedo, Ryan Anderson and JJ Reddick, who are spot up shooters that don't usually shoot many FTs, were a combined 15 for 16 in that game. So, not only did GS give up a season high 45 points to Howard, they also allowed his teammates a lot of free points they don't usually get. Hedo was 7 for 8 from the line in that game. Prior to that game, he was a combined 5 for 7 for the ENTIRE SEASON.

So, a recap of the Hack-a-Howard ploy:

After scoring a total of 18 points in his previous two games, Howard scores a season high 45 points - 27 points above his season average coming into the game.
Both of Golden States starting big men, David Lee and Andres Biedrins fouled out, and their back-ups end up playing down the stretch with five fouls each.
In the penalty early means extra free points for Hedo, Anderson and Reddick. Hedo made more FT in that game than he had the previous 10 games combined.

Yeah, the strategy sucked and cost GS the game. In order for it to work, Howard needs to shoot about 40% from the line and you need to avoid fouling his better shooting teammates, which means you play weak defense on some very good shooters. It's a defeatist tactic. It basically says we know we can't beat you in a conventional manner, so we'll try this gimmick and hope the hell it works. It didn't, and rarely does. It's one thing to foul a bad FT shooter late in the game to stop the clock, but fouling deliberately throughout the entire game is just plain stupid.

Mullens putting in work -- End of the first quarter: 12 pts in 11 min.

Kobe will lose $75M in the divorce. Remember when he insisted on getting married at a young age (22?) and everyone was saying, don't do it Kobe! He had the world (and the women) at his feet and he just had to get married.

The marriage lasted a long time considering the circumstances.

Who cares. He'll still have more money than he ever needs and got to fuck anyone he wanted while they were married. Are we supposed to feel sorry for him?

All part of Mrs. Kobe's brilliant plan. She gets "half of the empire" See will get more "Spousal Support"; since it's 1/2 of the time of marriage. And she will get the kids, because of Kobe's occupation. conclusion... Get as many kids and last as long as you can, then be set for life. It's not surprising that the ages of the children are 6 and 3. She has a good 12 years of child support coming to her. Also, 11 years of marriage. That's 5.5 years of spousal support. Arguably the length of time he can still make money in the league.

Anybody know what Carl Landry did to get in Monte's doghouse?

He doesn't play D. Still silly of them not to play him though, 'cause they paid big $ to land him.

Chandler Parsons is what he hoped Dante would be. Can't believe he's starting for Houston.

Saw this on Realgm: Diaw is available. He'd be perfect for us at center. And he's another expiring contract @ 9mil this year.

The Bobcats have made Boris Diaw available in a trade, according to beat writer Rick Bonnell.
Diaw's work habits and lethargic play on the floor have him in coach Paul Silas' doghouse. It's also the reason he's unlikely to attract much attention on the trade market. The rebuilding Bobcats won't take back a bad contract either, meaning Diaw will only be attractive to teams interested in his $9 million expiring contract. Bonnell suggests the Suns as a possible landing spot, but their front-court is already jammed. Diaw has come off the bench in two straight games, playing behind the likes of Tyrus Thomas, D.J. White and Derrick Brown

I'd give up Camby for him. Maybe throw in a pick and Babbit and ask for Augustin back. We'd become Bobcats West, but shit. That's a good roster right there.

Diaw is not a legit center, though I like him. Augustine is having a great year so far. I'd love to acquire him, maybe Cho is willing as they did draft Kemba Walker.

Diaw at the Center spot? No way. Dude's a SF/PF that you can run the offense through. He'd get abused at the center spot even in an era where's there's not many good true Centers.

He might not have the height, but he definitely has the weight and strength (fat) to battle big men the post. It's definitely unconventional, but I think it could work.

Don't think anyone with the Blazers would be interested though.

Maybe we can get PHX involved and make a huge trade with Diaw, DJ, Nash, and Gortat coming to PDX, and Camby+ crap going to CHA, and Felton and Gerald going to PHX.

Wow, Gortat, Augustin and Nash have the most value in that trade and all of them are coming to Portland. No way that goes down.

lol. I need to be GM. I can make it happen.

In all honesty, I can see Diaw going to LA for their TPE (Odom). Which would suck.

The Thunder is good. Impressive win to beat them in their house.

Celtics are washed. I wonder if they'd consider blowing up and trying to get something for their guys before they retire.
