Will Sterling be owner of the Clips on Nov. 1?

  • yes, he'll still be owner (Sterlng Wins, at least temporarily)

    Votes: 6 18.8%
  • no, he'll be ousted (Sterling Loses)

    Votes: 8 25.0%
  • no, but he'll make an exorbitant amount of dough in the sale (Sterling basically wins)

    Votes: 18 56.3%

  • Total voters
    32
It's enough for even an actor as careful as LeBron James to feel empowered to take a flamethrower to Sterling, saying, "There is no room for Donald Sterling in our league."

Intolerence begets intolerence.

It's sad, really.

With the approval of the majority of owners have Silver allow any Clipper to be a free agent when the season is over. If the players don't feel comfortable playing for Sterling they shouldn't have to.

Is contracts law no longer applicable in Sterlings case?

If the commissioner has the power to void trades, with the approval of the majority of owners I'm sure he would have the power to void contracts.

On the Hoopshype front page it says that Donald Sterling could be fined for up to $1 million.

It seems to me that would render his franchise worthless and therefore the owners and their commissioner would be very liable. Giving the commissioner power over trades is consensual by the owners,
wholesale voiding of contracts might be view very differently. Lets see 100 billion divided up between 29 owners is a lot of fucking jack per owner. Would PA want to kick in his 3+ billion?

Contract the clippers and have a dispersal draft. Today. Preferably before our game. Dibs on Chris Paul; he'll look good behind Damian.

Franchise values have little to do with the players currently on the roster.

No, I think the owners have a problem with Mr. Sterling. The value of each franchise is in the value of the league as a whole and Mr. Sterling has acted to devalue the league but the owners are not
about to do anything to devalue his franchise and hurt themselves. Mr. Sterling hasn't done his part to hold up and enhance the league so I expect some sort of penalty befitting a billionaire and
some chastisement, but not many contracts will be voided.

Oh! They going to give him new players? Gee never thought of that, from where sir?

Give? No. There will always be players willing to sign to play for them.

Letting the players become free agents this year is just speeding up the inevitable, the Clippers stars won't re-sign with the team once their contracts are up.

It depends on what the NBA's big sponsors and advertisers want, if KIA or McDonalds don't want their name associated with the Clippers the NBA have to take some sort of action.

Another conspiracy article from that loon Sly.

I think Sterling could sue and win. The league could force him to sell but they aren't going to strip his franchise nor allow it to become a league sore as you suggest.
I believe they already have that power with a vote of the owners. Will they go that far? We shall see.

Come to think of it, this is a good excuse to force him to sell if the league has a suitable buyer waiting in the wings with enough jack to buy in and make the league better.
They could well do it if all the ifs are covered.

I do think this is the inevitable end. Again, Marge Schott was forced out of majority ownership of the Reds less than a year after saying Hitler wasn't such a bad dude.

The Seattle Clippers. Book it

Wait, in this first of its kind NBA franchise shotgun wedding....and in deference to Seattle and the rich history of its former franchise and local barista culture...how 'bout the "Seattle Sippers?"

You can't ignore me, Muhahahahahaha!

The Clippers took off their shooting shirts and dumped them at center court.
