Cool, I didn't know. I thought this forum was mostly males. Nice to know there are women in here also.

When venues turn into black venues, white people stop going there? That's really edgy.
This isn't edgy as much as it doesn't make sense.

Sterling said he did not want black people at his games, period. He made it a point to say he did not want Magic Johnson at the game, who happens to be black and is, by Sterling's own admission, a class act. To equate blackness with ghettoness is simply racist and highly offensive. How is taking a picture with Magic Johnson going to suddenly turn the Staples Center into a venue mostly comprised of black, ghetto people?

Historically, most of the "ghetto" behavior in NBA arenas has occurred from white fans. For example, the Palace brawl in Detroit a few years ago was at the hands of a mostly white crowd. We can also look overseas at the hooliganism taking place in football stadiums by predominantly white crowds. The ghetto behavior that you are referring to isn't exclusive to black people.

Can someone provide the original link that started this? Was it Twitter, Instagram, or TMZ? I have read each one in different articles, but no original link.

Let's see the evidence.

Is there anything someone could say to you to bait you into saying a bunch of racist crap?
Certainly she is well aware of his views and attitudes. She was just lobbing him softballs, and he was only too willing to take a few swings.

First post in this thread has the first link and the audio. TMZ is the one who broke the story.

I'm not going to listen to it again. But did he infer he didn't want blacks at his games or just that he didn't want his supposed girlfriend to take any black people to games, because it embarrassed him in front of his racist friends?

The magic part doesn't sound as clear to me. It almost seems like she is egging him on at that point trying to tread the line of racism. I dont know that the magic part would be as bad if heard by itself. It's earlier when he is going on and on about how certain races are wrong, and even goes on to tell her that she makes him sick because of it(etc) that is evidence of his disgusting outlook.

I feel you have to be critical about things like these because of how easy it is to manipulate audio with today's technology. I think I'd truly have to weigh the evidence before calling him a racist or not. From what I've heard, he is kind of a scumbag. So this has come as no surprise to anyone. The stuff on the tapes is unacceptable and if it is determined that he did indeed say them he will be shunned mightily.

I don't think the two are mutually exclusive. He probably meant both.

What does attract "that crowd" mean? And if the Clippers become a team of the poorer blacks and Mexicans of LA, what would the problem be? Do you think he would be fine if poor whites wanted to attend games? Sterling actually did not mention financial status so I don't know where he came up with that conclusion.

Are you for real bro?

It would be much better if Sterling keeps the team and stars refuse to play for him.

But...money talks. Would many players pass up the pay day regardless if Sterling is cutting the check?

You got it.

Yes, I am. Sterling said he doesn't want black people at his games, including Magic Johnson. How is Magic Johnson, whom Sterling regarded as a class act, going to attract any sort of crowd that will be detrimental to the Clippers organization?

What, is it in the Terms of Service now? That I have to read part of the thread, before posting as if I know what I'm talking about?

Here's the thing......are you just arguing to argue? I don't know you, but if you don't understand what El Prez is saying you are straight up clueless. You claim to be from the NYC, but don't get his posts?

Please break it down for me then.

Interesting.

The only thing I will say, I don't agree with him but he is entitled to his own feelings. And had this not gotten out. No one, the world wouldn't have known and life for him and general would have gone on as normal.

It's too bad this slipped out on him

Nevermind......You're just bored I can see. Don't know who with or where you were raised, but you should see and understand what Prez is saying. I'll leave this one alone.

If Sterling doesn't want to attract a crowd full of minorities, maybe he should get rid of all the black players on the Clips, and have an all-white team. I wonder what those crowds would be like?

It didn't slip out accidentally. Who made the 10-minute tape? The girlfriend named V.?

I was born and raised in New York City and spent the last few years in California. I don't see how that's relevant. Where were you raised?

I do have an idea of what he may have been insinuating, which I took as racist and incorrect, but I don't want to just assume that. That's why I gave you the opportunity to explain to me what he was saying and you couldn't. If what Prez is saying is so simple and obvious why can't you enlighten me? I'm genuinely interested in his point.

There's a simple solution. Just have Donald Sterling and Wyc Grousbeck trade teams. Sterling could reintroduce Boston's "Best White Player Available" strategy.

We all have things that we believe and think that we would never voice to anyone if it would offend them. Nobody knows how Paul Allen views black people. He may hate them. But what's not known can't hurt them. Paul has a right to feel how he feels about anyone he wants to feel about. He lives in a country that gives him that right. I'm not sure this footage is any of our business or anyone outside this inner circle. So he doesn't like black people, he didnt ask ESPN for an interview so he could voluntarily publicize this. If it was given to him as option by his girlfriend to take it to TMZ or not. He probably would have told her NOT to.

It got out, he is in trouble now. It's too bad for him because it is probably the beginning of the end of his ownership of the Clippers.

I remember he didn't want "the blacks" living at an apartment complex he owned because they'll "stink up the joint."
