Will Sterling be owner of the Clips on Nov. 1?

  • yes, he'll still be owner (Sterlng Wins, at least temporarily)

    Votes: 6 18.8%
  • no, he'll be ousted (Sterling Loses)

    Votes: 8 25.0%
  • no, but he'll make an exorbitant amount of dough in the sale (Sterling basically wins)

    Votes: 18 56.3%

  • Total voters

If Sterling doesn't want to attract a crowd full of minorities, maybe he should get rid of all the black players on the Clips, and have an all-white team. I wonder what those crowds would be like?

DAMN YOU! I didn't know you followed me on twitter!

It didn't slip out accidentally. Who made the 10-minute tape? The girlfriend named V.?

So you're saying he knew it would get out?

Don't believe it. She's no doubt a vixen.

This proves that 1%ers don't deserve their 1%.

We all have things that we believe and think that we would never voice to anyone if it would offend them. Nobody knows how Paul Allen views black people. He may hate them. But what's not known can't hurt them. Paul has a right to feel how he feels about anyone he wants to feel about. He lives in a country that gives him that right. I'm not sure this footage is any of our business or anyone outside this inner circle. So he doesn't like black people, he didnt ask ESPN for an interview so he could voluntarily publicize this. If it was given to him as option by his girlfriend to take it to TMZ or not. He probably would have told her NOT to.

It got out, he is in trouble now. It's too bad for him because it is probably the beginning of the end of his ownership of the Clippers.
He's certainly entitled to his own opinion. It seems likely that his girlfriend set him up and she may face some legal consequences as a result, but I'm not familiar with California privacy law. Nonetheless, I don't feel sorry for him. While everyone is entitled to their own opinion, there are some opinions, such as his, that people ought not have. Further, his history - Elgin Baylor and DoJ lawsuit, several allegations of racist comments - suggests that he has gone beyond merely having an opinion and has acted on it. I think he's very deserving of all the backlash he has received.

I also think that Donald Sterling has always been a self-destructive douchebag, who has somehow managed to always fall upwards. Without Neil Olshey, there is no way Chris Paul is in Los Angeles. How happy must Neil be to be away from that madness?

PapaG is on Al Sharpton's side.

Huh? I wouldn't stand by Sterling, let alone give him an award.

What is telling, though, is that the NAACP apparently bestows honors like these on people who give them the most money. Sterling gives a lot of money to the NAACP ... maybe that's his own way to assuage his white guilt?

I completely agree with this point of view. People have the right to be as stupid and bigoted as they wish. And free agents have the right not to sign with the Clippers. Doc Rivers has the right to quit as coach. And fans have the right not to continue to support the team he owns.

I hope people express their displeasure with Mr. Sterling.

Perhaps this is an opinion you ought not have. No?

Everyone is going to have thoughts and feelings on things. I'm not sure we are qualified enough to go around policing and telling them how and what they should think and feel. He feels it. He's entitled to it.

Tody, Al Sharpton condemned Sterling. Every conservative laughs at Al Sharpton and despises him. Why are you two cronies of Al Sharpton? Do you hate America?

Oh no, here comes one of jlprk's crazy conspiracy theories.

Aliens? GW Bush? 2nd gunman on the grassy knoll?

Latest conspiracy theory is that Putin is behind the rebels in Ukraine.

I swore I saw Chris Paul make a statement as the NBA Player rep....can't find it.

I know there are a lot of people who think this is going to be a negative distraction.

I just hope it doesn't effect them the other way and lights a fire under them that propels them to an NBA championship. Taking their anger out on the hardwood.

I bought all his old track suits.

The tape shows that Sterling talks like a moron. He can't put his thoughts into words.

Yet we are told everyday that the 1%ers who run the economy deserve giant tax breaks at our expense because we are the parasites.

We can debate all day about what opinions people should and shouldn't have. I personally believe people should not be racist even though they are entitled to be. However, you are not entitled to act upon your racism. In the context of housing and employment, it is illegal to discriminate against people on the basis of race, and based on this new information, it seems much more likely that Sterling acted on his racism.

Would you believe that my uncle gave me some of Bob Barker's old clothes? They've been hanging here in the closet for over 10 years.

Sly, you'll like this. Who made the tape to push out Sterling? Notice that our new commissioner's name is Silver?

Sterling might be interesting if he could enunciate his thoughts into a paragraph of cogent philosophy. I'd listen, if he could stop slurring through his dentures.

In any other NBA city, Sterling would live quietly, with or without a wife (e.g. Paul Allen is single). But Buss set the mold for an L.A. owner with orange hair and plastic surgery. Buss was a dentist (an M.D.?), but Sterling is not up to the sterling IQ required to lead LaLa Land.

I can see it from his viewpoint. On the tape, he tells her that he loves her, but gives her permission to sleep with other men of any race. He is stretching as far as he’s able.

If I were a coherence-challenged billionaire, honoring some random whore with the title of "girlfriend," I'd expect her to obey my simple little rule that she is to seem as white as possible in public. He’s worried that she’s even dumber than he is, and will embarrass him with classless words and actions.

Sure enough, she just lost her billionaire boyfriend. Kind of proves his point. Too bad. They were IQ-compatible.
