Boston is a very average team without Kevin Garnett. They're getting blown out right now.

Without PJ Brown, James Posey, and KG, they're not a championship team.
 
You should see the thread in the Celtics forum. They're comparing Rondo to Stockton. I tried to tell them that Rondo is playing on a team with three great players, but they claimed that the presence of Garnett, Allen, and Pierce was actually holding Rondo back in some ways. I laughed.
 
Rando is more Fat Lever than anything. He's NOTHING like Stockton. NOTHING.

Without the big-3 opposing defenses would focus on Rando.

Without the big-3 who is he going to create for? That entire roster plays off of KG, Pierce, and Allen.

When they decline, which is just around the bend, the Celts will be a mess.

Hmm. Looks like Varajao hooked Allen and threw him to the floor. Allen lost his cool and retaliated.

Funny as hell, but clearly out of line. Ray was pretty pissed, I don't what Varejao did to upset him. Just looked like pretty good blocking, if you will.

I've lost all respect for Allen. It's remarkable how many athletes, once they get a taste of winning, become pathetic jerks.

Good point guards heighten the level of play of those around them. Rondo is already an elite distributor and an elite defender. The C's will be just fine with him as the face of the franchise, probably getting to respectability sooner than people think if they can draft some good players around him. If the big three left this summer I would be a little nervous handing the team to Rondo, because I think he's still in the developmental stages, albeit the final ones.

After qualifying it with "funny as hell." ;) Face it, JE...you can't bring yourself to be critical of an athlete from your favourite team without trying to make it seem a little bit positive.

So the fact that I admitted and acknowledge that this was a dumb move by Ray is cancelled by me getting a chuckle of athletes throwing elbows to someone's balls? lolk

That's rather harsh. One incident of losing his temper doesn't negate the fact he has always been a class act. Besides, why did Varajao feel the need to toss him like that? Up by 20 and he feels the need to punk out a smaller player?
 
how did that not hurt Varajeo? does he have the smallest package ever cuz Allen jammed his elbow up in there hard! hahah:lol:

I didn't say anything about canceled out. All I'm saying is that you're not terribly rational about Boston players. "That was awesome!! But he shouldn't have done it." Yes...very rational stand. lolzzzzzzz

It does when that "once incident of temper" is a pretty vicious, violent act. It's cool that Varejao is apparently invincible, but how would you have enjoyed someone driving their elbow hard into your crotch? Would you say "He's still a class act...he just made a single (painful for me!) mistake"? ;)
