OT: Grizz/Nugs Swap Arthur/Koufos

Nuggets center Kosta Koufos has been traded to the Memphis Grizzlies, two NBA sources confirmed Thursday, in exchange for Darrell Arthur and the 55th pick in Thursday’s draft.

I think that the Grizz gave up more talent than they're bringing back, but at the end of the day, they already had several players bringing what Arthur had to the table, and they could have used a true center to back-up Marc last season. I'd say the trade is a win-win for what both teams needed.

True. I think a lot of that had to do with injuries and, more importantly, inconsistent playing time. Especially once Ed Davis and Austin Daye got in the mix, not only his playing time would fluctuate, but so would his role on the floor.

I think that if the new Denver coach/GM keep the ten man rotation going, he'll thrive in that system. With a predictable amount of playing time and a defined role every night, he still has a very high ceiling (just turned 25).

From the Grizzlies perspective, I guess this clears some playing time up for Ed Davis and really just adds more balance to their frontcourt, with a legitimate center coming off the bench, instead of asking guys like Arthur and Davis to log minutes at the five.

I basically agree, a win, win, win, win, both players and both teams should be better off. You actually don't find trades like that very often.
