Carmelo Anthony in Knicks' sights if club is able to deal Anthony Randolph for a first-round pick

The Knicks have fielded calls from several Western Conference clubs regarding a deal for Randolph, according to a team source. The most compelling conversations have been with the Houston Rockets, who in one scenario would trade the Knicks the first-round pick they obtained in last year's Tracy McGrady deal.

New Orleans 1st rounder for Anthony Randolph sounds intriguing!

I am sure the Blazers are having internal discussions about this one. That's what this team is great at doing

AR has talent and is 21, he has far more talent than anyone we're likely to get in this draft, this is a no brainer for me, we should go after him. We have the just rec'd Oden injury exception - use it CHO! Also we have excellent vets to mentor him such as camby who he reminds many of.

Probably way more talented than anyone you guys would pick assuming you're always in mid-late first or late lotto area. But the fact that the Knicks are willing to move him so fast after they just acquired him (and were in love with him) is concerning. When he was traded from GS for Lee it just seemed like giving up talent for a proven player despite the internal issues he had there. Now its becoming a trend.

I'd definitely give NY our pick (with some sort of protection--- top 10 maybe) for AR.

it's a no brainer IMO especially given how weak this yr's draft will likely be and we desperately need some front line youth with potential, and frankly if we prefer i bet we could easily swing him to OKC for Eric maynor who I like a lot

why is it that the blazers always seem like they are on the outside looking in while teams like houston seemed involved in every decent trade

We also have the exception from the Bayless deal that could be used in case we are targeting another player that fits closer to the 3.4 mil exception we have from Oden. Just as an asset I think he would be worth more than the draft pick. I'd try and make it a stipulation that it would be the lesser of our 2 first round picks also.

Just because a team isn't in the news doesn't mean they aren't in discussions. Often times some of the information put out there is planted by agents just to generate more interest or even the holding team to try and up his value.

cause he's very good and stuck behind Westbrook and won't get a chance there, IMO there is no one better in the draft we have a chance at and no one better as a young PG who has done well in limited time in NBA games and is likely "gettable" - so how bout using your brain for a change instead of a useless reply

Hey Cup (it's "Surge"), better conversations

if eric maynor is ever a above average pg...

i will leave this board forever

Not vouching for Maynor in anyway, but what do you definte as above average?

A starter since there are two backups?

PER?

Win shares?

your ignorance is exceeded with this dumb "lets trade for eric maynor nonsense'

eric maynor is another blazer favorite. makes sense why you like him. cant shoot, average passer, has potential, and overated defender. all things blazer fans look for.

only one word needed - "ignorance"

I agree with MIXUM. Maynor seems like he's plateaued this year, and he still below average. I get that he's playing behind a budding superstar, but he hasn't shown anything that I haven't already seen in Patty/Armon. Seems like another mediocre PG prospect.

mediocre PG.... WHAT?????????? ERIC FREAKING MAYNOR?????

That kid is a stud....

Signed Kevin Pritchard and Blazer nation

2 trades that fucked our bench

Not doing Rudy fernandez for Wilson Chandler

Trading Bayless for a garbage pick

Now we are left with a dude frm spain who hates the nba and runs around like a chicken with his head cut off and 2 PGs where 1 can score but cant play defense and the other who can play defense yet is a turnover machine who cant score. Lovely.

Chandler was never offered for Rudy.

So another deal that hurt our bench, not trading Rudy for Manu. Hey, why not make up other shit, right?

that rudy trade was mentioned every other day all summer.

your ignorance is only exceeded by these dumb "leaving the board" posts

You see how he is running now when asked for a definition of an average PG. Just ask him for concrete numbers to define his position and that is his usual response.

average pg???? beno on sac? felton on knicks? beldesoe on clippers.

hes not even close to those guys even if he played 35+ a night. he might get better but i doubt it....

isnt their a pacers forum where you could go convince yourself hibbert is the best center in the nba or something or maybe mcroberts has a chance at the all star game?

Randolph is a guy we should be looking at targeting anyways.....now they're shopping him? No brainer! low risk, high reward and young.

doesn't mean it was offered. They offered two second rounders for him.

when it makes too much sense....

chandler, collison, mo williams, varejo.... i know i have confidence cho will look in another direction.
