LeBron James will wear jersey No. 23 in his return to the Cleveland Cavaliers.

James announced his decision on Twitter and Instagram.

"23 it is! It's only right I go back. 2·3=6 We still family 6."

James wore No. 23 from 2003-2010 with the Cavaliers and then wore No. 6 in four seasons with the Miami Heat.

My take is that your thread needed a better title. Lucky for you I was around to help.

At least it isn't the "Official" Blazers who gives a shit what number Lebron James wears thread.

So there's that.

is bgd really huevonkiller?

HOLY SHIT HOW HAVE I NOT NOTICED THIS BEFORE

Yawn... didn't care before, didn't let the media tell me to care. Happier for that.

BGD I'm curious, given the nature of most of your threads why don't you use the NBA forum as opposed to the Blazer forum? All these threads are front page NBA.com news. We know already

I didn't make the thread to tell everyone what number Lebron is wearing. I made the thread because he went back on his word & he's a jackass. I question if it was someone else that made this thread most of the responses would be different.

Well, a precedence had to be set, so...

For some reason this emote reminds me of the old guy with the fishing pole on the state farm commercial. "Oh... you almost got it! You're gonna have to try harder than that."

Cree-py.

I did not discern any of that from the OP.

In fact, "Lebron went back on his word & he's a jackass" would have been a bang up thread title! :)

Would you mind elaborating?

Sure, First he does the going on national television to announce to the world that he's leaving his hometown (Cleveland) and he's taking his talents to south beach. I don't think I need to explain that. Now if you listen to what he says about Micheal Jordan who Lebron calls the greatest player of all time and that no guy should ever wear the # 23. Also says he's changing it to #6 because he did so much for the game and every single player in the NBA. So now he goes back to Cleveland and changes it back to #23 and you don't find it in the least bit disrespectful? The guy obviously doesn't plan well and he doesn't think before his actions.

Personal attacks that aren't recognized by the target as such are still personal attacks. Still deserved though.

Ah, I had forgotten about Lebron saying no one should wear Jordan's number. That kind of bugged me at the time. Him contradicting himself now is a bit ironic, and funny.

Perhaps he meant #45?

,I doubt it but he'll probably change his number to 45 before his career is over. That will be after he says the number should be retired and no player should be allowed to use it. .

Where did I say I don't find it disrespectful? All i did was ask you to explain some details so I could understand an extremely vague post.

What's the big deal about his number?

Personally I don't give a shit what he wears, but I think some people find him hypocritical because he said during his final season in Cleveland that nobody should wear the #23 and that he was changing his number (which he did). So it's funny that he immediately went back to 23 as soon as he returned to Cleveland.

Actually, I found it funny that he said nobody should wear 23 because of what Jordan did, but he went and chose a number worn by Dr. J and Bill Russell.

I have to believe that part of the reason he went back to #23 is so Cavs fans who still have their 23 jerseys won't be tempted to buy his new number. It's an unselfish act, if you look at it that way.

The Cavs will still milk it. Did you see how many alternate jerseys they had when he was there? There were enough alternates for an entire wedding party to wear one (something like 8 different jerseys).
