Okay.... okay.... it will move the game away from the smaller shooters and teams will load up on post players and make the game a more physical aND old school..... Okay okay..... and the downside to this would be?
Plays like Lillard's 0.9 second shot to close out the Rockets comes to mind.
Eliminate the three point line on the sides, Just make the three point line to one end of the floor to the next.I don't have a problem with widening the court to accomodate a longer 3-pt line.
I just miss the old school game. I like high elbows, I like clogging the lane, I like hand checking..... I like sheer strength over ranging down threes.
You must have loved Riley's Knicks teams and 85 point games.
That rule hurts everyone except Curry; Cuban is the stupidest billionaire this side of Donald Trump.League Average 3 pt% - 35.2%
Steph Curry 3 pt% - 46.1%
I suspect that's the reason Cuban wants the line moved. If you can't beat 'em, change the rules.
Make any ally-oop thrown behind the 3pt line worth 3pts. It would give a 2nd 3pt option and would open the floor more. It would get big men playing near the hoop instead of taking mid range jumpers.
You keep pushing this one. Give it a rest. Thank the basketball gods this will never happen.
You're right, refs would never get it right.
You could make it illegal to set a pick beyond the 3-point line.
