Lillard 21 PTS 9/17 Shooting 6 Assissts 4 Rebounds 3 stl 5 TO - 8

Yes, he outplayed Lillard.

I forgot to mention that Lillard had two turnovers down the stretch.

I forgot to mention this.

yes, kahn is amazing at the draft, i bet you cant wait

although i AM eager to hear all of you rubes come up with excuses why you dont win 30 games NEXT year either

Kahn probably won't be here to screw up another draft. And the only way the Wolves don't win 40 games next year is because of injuries.

How is it an excuse? It is reality.

Are you looking for sympathy?

Your injury "luck" is NOWHERE near what the Blazers have been through since 2007.

So you can take that argument and shove it up your ass.

And I mean that in the kindest way, friend.

:)

The thing is I actually like the Blazers. They were one of my top 5 teams to watch in the early 2000s and during Roy's prime.

I just think you guys severely underrate Rubio. Statistics don't capture just how good he is.

Man you guys really don't get the difference of comparing individuals and comparing teams.

You have a great avatar, though. Best character on the Wire.

I'm just flipping you shit. Rubio looked the best I've ever seen him in the 4th quarter the other night. Of course, if the Blazers breathed on someone it was a foul down the stretch, and Barea and Rubio were allowed to arm check Lillard on the perimeter. A bizarrely reffed game, but Rubio had a good quarter.

The worst adjusted +/- of any starting PG in the league.

He nearly breaks backboards with simple layups and pushes the ball like Marion on his jumper.

We're just calling it how we see it.

I honestly don't think Rubio gets enough calls. 1/3 of his misses are because he is hacked and there is no call (obvious exaggeration).

I can admit that at this point, Lillard is better than Rubio. If Rubio can learn to finish 3/4 as good as Tony Parker can, he will be insane.

Kinda funny that Barkley was very annoyed when Shaq took Lillard with his first pick for the rookie/rising stars game, so he settled for Rubio with his 5th pick.

So we just ignore the context of the season? Just ignore the injuries?

We do when the at least one T-Pups fan made his bold prediction 20+ games into the season, and also said that if Love were out longer, it wouldn't matter because they're possibly better without him.

So... yes, yes I do ignore the injuries.

It's not like Blazers have been without injuries. Obviously, not to the same extent as the T-Pups, but still.... Guys like Wes and Batum still try to play through their injuries, as much as possible, even when they're almost hurting us.

Even more comical that Irving went 3rd. How did he not got 1?

that is a good point.

wait, I mean BOO, YOU'RE A WOLVES FAN....

but seriously, yeah, at WORST he should've been #2, but I suspect these picks were kind of like "ok, pick the top two rookies from this years draft and then do whatever you want"

Stupid auto correct. But yeah, that would be the only explanation I could think of. Glad Shved got in it.

Kind of off topic, but the rising stars game got me thinking, how has Meyers Leonard been? Saw him play last year at the barn. He was very athletic, but man he just didn't seem to get it. He let little things tick him off and it really affected his play.

He shows glimpses of being a decent pro, and glimpses of intense rawness.

He should be sent to the DL, imho, since he barely gets off the pine here.

I wonder how many players have played in the Rook/Soph game and the real All-Star game in the same year.

Off of the top of my head, I can think of these

Brandon Roy
Kevin Durant
Blake Griffin
LeBron James

Who else am I missing?

LaMarcus...I think?

Whole bucket of meh right now, he's athletic, but pretty clueless when he's in there. He's got miles to go before you'd call him a professional basketball player.

At least we haven't seen any emotional problems... yet.

But...but....he's garbage!!

crazy stat line 3-13 on field goals and 18 points

I didn't see the game, but the 3-13 is typical Bricky. What stood out was the 12-13 FTs. Not that he actually made 12 of 13 FTs, but why the heck was Uath fouling him and sending him to the line? Haven't they seen the scouting reports? You don't just let Rubio shoot, you invite him to shoot - from anywhere. The defensive game plan should be force Rubio to try to beat us with his jump shot and you'll win every time. Heck, from what I've seen, you can let him shoot lay-ups and still come out ahead.

The most injured team ever was the 09-10 Blazers. Almost everyone, including the coach, had knee surgery. It was great. At point our team was Bayless and Howard leading the way. Everyone but Webster and Miller missed games. Crazy season. And we made the playoffs.

Still your basketball analysis that Rubio is garbage?

Why do we care? He thinks the Clippers are garbage as well but POR isn't. It is fine to be a homer about one's team but it should be easy to be realistic about another.

I still think Rubio is garbage.

Can't shoot at all and his WS/48 is awful.

Rubio is averaging over 6 assists a game shortly after comic off an injury . . . but then again you did admit you can be a blockhead in this very thread. :)

This board is anything but impartial when it comes to Rubio. One poster actually thinks Price and Smith are better than Rubio.

Well statistically they are so far this season.
