My guess is that Larry Ellison called up and told them to wait for his offer.

Wait so what's happening with this shit?
Adrian Wojnarowski @WojYahooNBA No agreement signed, but one source describes deal as "1st and goal at 1." Maloofs history of changing course late still makes many uneasy.

This is great for the Blazers, for a number of reasons
Woj tweeted the Maloofs agreed to sell the team to a Seattle Group.
WOw just finished that SONICSGATE video. How fucking depressing! I really feel bad for the fans of Seattle. And to put even more salt in the wounds, Clay Bennett owns all the history of the Seattle Supersonics. They can't retire Kemp, X-man, Payton or other greats that made a mark in the NBA. What a fucking shame!

Stern has to get the Griz out of Memphis and back to Vancouver.
If this goes thru........what do you think the reaction of the Sonics fans will be towards the Thunder when they meet for the first time in SEA? I bet they boo the fuck out of them!

Proposed realignment - I like the new Pacific but it's a stretch to call Memphis and OKC "northwest".
I don't know about that. I'm guessing they cheer pretty loudly for Durant and any other player that was in Seattle. When I hear Sonics fans talk about it, they always want OKC to lose, but Durant to do well.

It would be epic if Durant left okc for nothing and decided to play in Seattle.![]()
I think him and collision are the only ones left.

* Of the Maloofs, Gavin has long been most adamantly opposed to selling. The second of five Maloof siblings, he jokingly has said that he would chop off one of his legs before agreeing to a sale of the franchise. As for the investors Sacramento mayor Kevin Johnson said he has spoken with about purchasing the Kings? Let's just say, the brothers like Ron Burkle about as much as they like the Lakers, which is to say, they will never get over it ..
* Not a bad number: 19 sellouts in 27 seasons in Sacramento. While Kings attendance is dwindling - for obvious reasons, among them franchise uncertainty and a disappointing product - based on the eyeball test and from watching games on NBA League Pass, a number of other teams appear to be, um, quite generous with the numbers.
* While the reported estimates of $500 million would break all NBA numbers for franchise sales, any relocation would require that the Maloofs pay off the $77 million loan to the city, pay approximately $30-$35 million in relocation fees, and receive approval from the Board of Governors.
The team is $200 million in debt, and could lose between $6 million and $7 million during the current NBA season. That loss was largely a result of the team's increased payroll this year after the NBA's new collective bargaining agreement mandated teams must carry payrolls of at least $49 million, the source said. The Kings' payroll reportedly is $57.9 million for the current season, about $13 million more than last year.
