I think it would be very hard not to sell the team if they're in debt 200 million AND they're playing in a dump of an arena AND there's no real shot at getting a decent stadium there.

what about "central" in the western conference, and the texas et al. "southern" or maybe just "Texas Et al."
On my mobile so cant post link, but David Falks daughter tweeted that this was a done deal. She has since taken down the tweet. We could be playing against the Sonics next season.
Ummm sure we will sell you our team, but we want to be able to tell you how to run the team.

I thoroughly enjoyed our rivalry with Sonics during the Blazers Drexler/Porter and Sonics Payton/Kemp era. Bring the rivalry back!
Let the city of Sacramento keep the Kings intellectual property and history. Hopefully the Seattle team would be able to reclaim the Sonics intellectual property and history.
Fuck Seattle and their smug attitude about being the best fans in the NFL.
Hate the Mariners.
Hate the Sea Scrubs.
Hate the Sounders.
Hate whatever team they add in the coming years.
RCTID!

Bay Area media are saying it's a "done deal" and the Maloofs will get $525m.
They also have to pay the city of Sacramento some sort of fees, right?
Factor in the arena cost, this whole process will cost this group a better part of a billion.
BILLION.

Seattle needs a team but the only way to get a team anymore is to steal one. There will be no expansion for many years (if anything there will be contraction). It sucks because the King's fans don't deserve this just like the Sonic's fans didn't at the time.
SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) - Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson says he has received approval from NBA Commissioner David Stern to present a counteroffer to the league from investors who would keep the Kings in California's capital city.
Speaking at the annual State of Downtown Breakfast on Tuesday, Johnson says the city is in a "six-week sprint" to put together a proposal for the NBA's Board of Governors to consider. The league's deadline for teams to apply for relocation is March 1.
People with knowledge of the situation said last week that a group led by investor Chris Hansen, who wants to return the NBA to Seattle, has contacted the Maloof family about buying the Kings. They spoke on condition of anonymity to The Associated Press because no deal has been reached.
The Kings and the NBA have declined to comment.
No way they can come up with $525 million!
As Mayor Kevin Johnson noted Tuesday, amid reports about potential ownership groups and of AEG's renewed interest in any arena project, the Maloofs "can participate in some way." Or they can sell outright to local investors and cement the Kings' future in Sacramento, the city they once embraced and where they still own homes.
Marc Stein @ESPNSteinLine Just going online now: Maloofs have struck deal to sell 65 percent of Kings to Chris Hansen group in Seattle for $525 million, sources say
Marc Stein @ESPNSteinLine Kings deal to Seattle group still requires formal NBA ratification but Hansen group intends to file for relocation by March 1 if approved
