Ya, not to me. In fact I looked up most socialist presidents after your response here, and Obama is on every list.

I'm still waiting on the piece of legislation you can point to that makes him the most socialist.

Fuck your right wing lists.

I GUARANTEE you those aren't even centrist sources.

There's not one liberal on the planet that would call Obama socialist.

Please name one thing Obama did that was socialist.

And don't say Obamacare because it was in no way socialist.

Americans don't seem to know what socialist means.
Obama, when talking to that plumber, said when you spread the wealth around it's good for everybody. That's EXACTLY what socialism is.

Cuba

Wall street reform

Obamacare

All have socialism traits.

Please don't misunderstand me, I don't think he is a socialist, but as a president, was one that had a lot of socialism views.

None of them are.

Taxing progressively is tax policy.

Wall street reform has been done in this country WELL before Obama (see Glass/Stegall). That's adding facemasking rules to football. Simple regulation.

Obamacare had NO PUBLIC OPTION and thrust is into the arms of the PRIVATE insurance companies, giving them 35 million new customers. It's actually one of the more capitalistic process of legislation we've ever passed.

Obama was center right.

Reaching out to Cuba and eliminating our embargo....

Was capitalist!

Opening up new markets to sell goods?

I'm talking about the general tone. That's what you need to go on because we live in a democratic society where you generally have to go along with the majority, provided of course you follow the Constitution and the law.

You're never gonna get everyone to go along with all your beliefs. You can only pick the most viable candidate who best reflects your beliefs. There are just too many instances where a third party candidate will not be viable and will ruin it for your second choice. I give you Ross Perot, Bill Clinton and George H.W. Bush also George Wallace, Richard Nixon and Hubert Humphrey.

...true, but it seems that we either get someone who is too far right or too far left. Like I said I'm a bit liberal on some issues yet quite conservative on others....I just don't simply see things in black and white.

...some of his programs/policies did help us out of the great depression...of course part of the remedy was WW II too.

Off-topic:

Is 59 the year you were born or your age?

Trick question, since it could be both.

We haven't had a far left president since....

Not since I've been alive. Clinton and Obama were both Center Right.

Carter? I don't remember his presidency. He did put dollar panels on the white house.

Bro, @MarAzul is a participant in the most successful of programs in American history. A program that was created by FDR. This program took us from over 50% poverty rate for senior citizens to the 6% we are at today.

Social Security.

and now the current administration wants to cut back on Social Security. First they steal from the funds and now want to reduce it all together. Crooks.

Something they promised not to do. Also something Paul Ryan has wanted to privatize (after paying for his college with SSN dollars).

@MarAzul do you support privatizing Social Security?

My Alabama grandparents had nothing but social security and a tiny black lung disease pension. They partially fed themselves from a back yard garden that my grandfather worked up until he died at 77. Being from rural Alabama meant he smoked unfiltered cigarettes, ate a lot of pork fat in one form or another and drank plenty of moonshine. Amazing that he lived that long.

All I can say is that for an awful lot of people thank God for social security.

No. We, way out here are far, too vulnerable to insiders an even those way closer to the info.
But I would like it to be a workable system. This one sucks but we are forced to participate even though it has been and is piss poorly managed.
