Totally sucks. I feel bad for Oregon State. They will be lucky to get a game against Oregon at the beginning of the season. For Oregon. Hire the architects, and the construction crews. Time to add 30 grand to Autzen. Second deck on Autzen just around the corner.

and if you guessed he's an OSU alum....you guessed right

the more these Beaver alums, especially in the legislature, puke out sour grapes, bile, and venom at the UofO, the less I care about OSU's predicament. I'm pretty much officially at not giving a shit, and I wasn't there a few hours ago

Why the hell are they acting like Oregon was the one who did this?

USC and UCLA started this. And then Colorado.... and then Arizona...... like wtf....... they're so bitter that they're going to aim all of their anger at Oregon?

Because Beaver fans know that access to playing the Ducks , and other big name teams is key to their future hopes. They didn't add to their stadium to play against the Little Sisters of the Poor (Mountain West Conf.) This kills a ton of their steam going forward. I hoped Oregon could be an island of strength to save the conference. But in the end, dollars win out over tradition.

It's not just dollars though. Oregon wants to continue to be a top school for recruiting and to chase championships. Sticking with the PAC 8 or whatever was not going to help with that.

They didn't fully commit to it, but they said they still want to play OSU.
Sure in the spot they usually save for PSU. At the beginning of the season. Thanksgiving gonna be saved for Ohio State, Michigan, or Penn State.

The Big 12 Pac. Just said by Alex Brink on 620. If the Beavs can join the Big 12. That would be best case now. Joining the Mountain West is a death sentence for Football Program.

Has he not taken one marketing class to know that it......helps to be good at it?

IT'S STILL THE DOLLARS.

The cost for other sports at Oregon to play in the Big Blowhard Conference will be exorbitant. Uncle Phil gonna have to bank roll them even more till next media deal since they're gonna get a lesser share to start.

Yes and no. I mean the money Oregon/UW is getting is nothing special until the new deal in 2030. But what Nate said is accurate, staying put with a 6-Pac could have meant a step back. But again it's not like joining the Big 10 was anyone's first choice. (Except maybe USC)

Evans is a Western Oregon State grad, not an OSU grad.

I think they have a good chance and they may get as much as Oregon is getting for now.

I'm sure it's true, or at least it's true she wants to try and monkey-wrench the deal. But then, she's an OSU alum serving and area invested in OSU. Bitter beaver tears, but it will do no good:

What it really helps is with recruiting. Lanning must be dizzy with possibilities. And the other sports immediately got a boost in the same vein.

The story I've heard from some in the know at one of the Big 10 schools is there wasn't an imminent plan to bring in Oregon and Washington. Probably would have held off and re-examined in 2030 when the conference's next TV deal was negotiated. But the money wasn't believed to be there at this moment. However, when Colorado bolted and some of the remaining Pac-10 schools got nervous, the Big 10 felt it had to strike while the iron was hot.

Actually, the Big 10 probably was looking more toward the ACC for its next expansion, with Florida State and North Carolina being targeted. Notre Dame, of course, always is going to be in the discussion, too. Stanford was vetted, as well, and it'll be interesting to see if Stanford and Cal get thrown a life preserver by the Big 10 because of the San Fran market and the ability to create a western pod that would cut down on travel costs a little. Stanford, though, only has lukewarm support now, and Cal less than that.
