Just reported on 1080 the fan. I believe the source was an Indy newspaper.

Mike Wells reported it on Twitter.

Though, do they even know what we're offering -- front-loaded or back-loaded?

Thanks for that update and new thread. It was lost 20 minutes ago when it was posted in the Roy Hibbert thread

Time for Plan B.

JaValee McGee? Chris Kaman? Elton Brand? Robin Lopez?

I’d prefer the team accept LaMarcus provides the most value at center. There are dozens of superior PF’s available but for some reason it sounds like the team is set on not having LaMarcus there. I think we could better maximize our talent on the court if we didn’t pigeonhole LA.

Prediction: Indy won't match Hibbert's contract. Leaking info so Blazers poison pill themselves. #pritchslap

Draco always breaking news!

(....in a brand new thread, after it's already been broken....)

Perhaps it'd be better if we had only one thread on this board titled "Blazer news"

Then I could spend hours trying to weed through thousands of posts to see what happened.

I really hope Kaman doesn't come up until like Plan Q. do not want.
See if you can throw a wrench in the Nets-Orlando swap,a nd offer Lopez. Go after McGee next.

Indy fans are already upset about the possibility of Hibbert walking.

No way do they leak that they're keeping him, and then let him walk. I could see them doing something to try to get some goods via S&T, but unless that happens, Indy matches. Hands down.

Simmer down, son. Just giving you shit.

But you were late to the table. The Hibbert thread was back to the top with the updated news.

You can't back-load a max contract. The most "toxic" they can make it is 17M, 12.05M, 12.57M, 13.09M for 4/54.71 (notice, NOT quite a max b/c of the signing bonus) and 8.5M due when the contract is signed.

EDIT: Should've said most they can make it based on a 58M cap. When the new # gets released I can update it.

If they do match, I can't say I'll be all that surprised. Hopefully the Blazers find this out before having to make a decision on Nicolas ... which I guess that will all boil down to when he signs with Minny (if he signs?).

McGee seems like the most logical choice.

Though, we could be super trolls and offer B.Lopez the same contract.

Even better news.

David Aldridge:

Indy, per source, will give Hibbert the same terms that Portland was ready to give in offer sheet, & so won't technically "match" the sheet.

Nah, fuck both of those guys. Lopez would be a bad fit with LA (terrible defensively) and McGee is an epic retard on the court.

PACERS WILL NOT "MATCH" HIBBERT

Well no kidding. You were dreaming if you thought Hibbert was ever going to weara a Blazers jersey. The Pacers would be dumb as rocks not to match.

Re: PACERS WILL NOT "MATCH" HIBBERT

WTF does that mean?

If he says "No" and signs with Portland, would Indy then match?

Re: PACERS WILL NOT "MATCH" HIBBERT

Great news, means we don't have to wait around for 3 days, and can go hunt out a new RFA NOW, or someone else. Nice move by Indy, IMO.

not that I want to call Aldridge a liar, but if Roy's in Portland (and he is), and he's going to sign our offer sheet (like he's projected to), then IND has to "match" term-for-term, letter-for-letter. The only way they wouldn't is to say "Hey Roy, don't sign anything with the Blazers, we'll come up with this sheet here." and he does.

They're going to try to get him to sign their offer instead of ours.... which will no doubt be a toxic offer with a bunch of money up front.
