Sanders is listed as 6'11" 235
LMA is listed as 6'11 240 I am surprised LMA is 240. I still thought he was around 230.

Interesting that Dieng is listed as 6'11 245 on draftexpress. I am curious to see if that holds up

Plumlee is also listed as 6'11" 245 lbs.

I think that getting a veteran center who can have an immediate impact upon the Blazers' ability to defend the paint is what Olshey has in mind rather than another rookie project.

Whoops. I meant to post this in MM's hypothetical Leonard trade thread.

How can people compare us to the 2004 Pistons? That team was built on defense. Our team barely bothers to raise their arms.

Olshey isn't going to get what we need this offseason. We have so many holes and not enough assets to garner them. He can be aggressive, but it's better to be smart and think long-term.

I noticed the same thing.

Houston is going to try and create room for a run at Dwight.

10th pick for Omer Asik and Terrance Jones.

Omer doesn't block shots but still ranks as an elite defender/rebounder.

I'm thinking Gortat is the best we can get without selling the farm

problem with Gortat is that he's "decent" yes, but do you want to give up the #10 pick for ONE yr left on his contract? I don't think I do

I'd go after Gortat or Noah first. Not sure why Chicago would let go of Noah though, Gortat was supposedly on the block for not much last year. The risk would be him not resigning with us, as he only has one year left.

DeAndre Jordan is really over-paid, but he'd help the team. He seems the most likely canidiate to be shipped out in a salary saving move.

I think McGee is more likely to go in a salary move, eseciially when they start Koufos and may keep Mozgov

If Denver likes Mozgov, I say we call Denver and tell them that we are prepared to over pay to get him. They will have pay a lot to match. Or they can trade us Mcgee at a reasonable amount.
Personally I think I would rather have Mozgov.

I think they reply; "enjoy overpaying for mozgov".

Mozgov sucks

For all I know you are 100% right. But just out of curiosity what are you basing that on?
Last time I remember watching him play was with the Knicks. As I recall the Knicks liked him and
did not want to include him in the trade.

Well, Javale is 2nd only to Larry Sanders in blocks per minute. He can finish inside....but what about the rest of his game? He seems like a bonehead.

An issue almost no one is discussing is that there are twelve teams (IIRC) that have significant cap space this season and not much in terms of free agents. Put into economic terms, lots of demand and little supply leads to high prices. We're not winning anything next year, so it may make sense to let other teams overpay and to keep our powder dry for 2014. Better that than burning all our cap space on shit players because it's the market rate.

If Olshey is a decent GM, he'll find a way to Band-Aid our crap bench for a season or two.

I agree. With our newly available money, this makes Hickson affordable. (You didn't see that coming?)

I assume thats why in the article Olshey puts so much emphasis on getting a deal done on draft day.

Its been pointed out already. He is essentially Meyers, but older, and fouls more.

I wonder if Olshey is going to try to get Eric Bledsoe. He was an Olshey pick in LA and is a defensive terror who could play alongside Lillard (just as the Celtics started Avery Bradley next to Rondo last year). It would be nice to have a player who's as athletic as Russell Westbrook. And who's been practicing against Chris Paul for two years.

Thanks, but that's not really what I asked. My question was what was the "Mozgov sucks" assessment based on? Since he barely has played since he was traded, although Karl has commented in the past that the guy can play, he just doesn't have enough minutes for all three.

From what I remember he is not similar to Leonard at all. Less skilled on O side, and more physical on the D side. Here is an interesting article mentioning him:

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/...ld-be-perfect-offseason-addition-for-new-york

"Mozgov hasn't played much this season, with George Karl favouring JaVale McGee and Kosta Koufos, but he's a player that plays tough defense and cleans the glass"

Had that exact thought, thinking back to the conversation the other day.

Then I saw that Bledsoe was 6 feet tall...Looked much bigger on the court.
