You won't understand what I'm going to say but it's time for a little real talk.

Paternity leave is the best thing that has happened to (middle class and upper middle class) white people in years.

You see white people in this country are scared. No seriously they are. Everywhere they look there are more and more people who aren't white. Almost monthly there is some new article out there showing that white people will eventually be the minority in the USA.

But when you look at the statistics, (middle class and upper middle class) white people are breeding less and less. Crazy huh? I mean the easiest way to solve this slipping into minority status is for (middle class and upper middle class) white people to start making more babies.

So why aren't Mr and Mrs White person having more kids?

Money.

And we're not talking about the added expense of having kids. We're talking about career setbacks.

You see when it's time for (middle class and upper middle class) white mommy to have baby they leave the workforce. When looking at the cost of daycare of an infant, trying to find a place close enough to breast feed the little bugger during lunch time, and all sorts of other mother/baby/family bonding it often makes sense for multiple reasons that you don't really care about for one parent to leave their job for a while.

But...

When it's time to reenter the workforce you're coming back at a lower paying position than when you left.

(This contributes to why women make less than men do in the same profession. Men don't leave to have babies (as often). )

You graduate from college, get a job as an assistant manager at the Acme Cog factory, work your ass off, get promoted to manager, husband says, "hey hun, lets have a baby!" You leave, have your cute little white baby, spend a year raising/bonding/changing diapers. And it's time to reenter the job market. So... you end up getting a job at Zzz Cog factory as an assistant manager.

Fuck!

You have the expense of an extra mouth to feed but you're making less money than when it was just you and your husband.

Oh well, hard work will get you that raise and promotion but the next time hubby says lets make a baby you tell him to fuck the hell off.

This is why Family Leave is good for whitey. It reduces the financial setback that occurs when they decide to have more future (middle class and upper middle class) white people. Mama takes a pause in her career to have her babies instead of having to restart her career. That means much higher career earnings, more minivans bought, private school enrollment, bigger houses, etc. It's a boost to the economy and it slows white people's slide into minority status.

Save white people! Make it easier for them to breed!

White people are the worst when it comes to showing off their babies.

Do you have poor sentence structure because you can't afford kids? Or can you not afford kids because you have poor sentence structure.

if we are being honest i dont have kids because i havent fucked a working vag since i was 20. there are benefits to chasing fixed milfs.
 
I'm actually on paternity leave right now. I can say, I wouldn't be much use at work anyway because of the fatigue and sleep deprivation that comes from being a new parent. I'm just working a bit from home to keep up with the important things.

I'm using my own accumulated sick time to pay for it. I believe it is now Oregon law that employees must be allowed to use their accumulated leave time for OFLA/FMLA leave. So if you've been at a job for awhile and don't abuse sick leave like some do, you should have enough to cover maternity/paternity leave.

But it's critical to child's development, and kids that are raised good become better citizens, children that are neglected become criminals and we all end up paying for them in the end.
 
Having kids is a choice.

Employers shouldn't be forced to accommodate this choice while at the same time penalizing those who did not choose to have kids. Its irrelevant that I don't have kids.

You choose voluntarily to have a child. Therefore, you are rewarded with extra paid time off. To me, that's bullshit. Work is a zero sum game, the less you're there, the more I have to work.
Leaving work at 5pm is a choice too but I don't hear you bitching.

It means time away from doing the one thing you actually love (making money) to pretend to give a shit about the lump of flesh that will ruin your business in 30 years.

Yeah, if you were really serious about your business, you'd plan ahead and stick a needle in your kids brain before it was born.
 
Trust me, it's not time off. People without babies get to have weekends and evenings, so you come out way ahead.

You can choose to have it be "time off" if you wanted to. Its all dependent on the person's efficiency and living situation.

My wife and I are horrible parents, so we have had evenings, weekends and vacations throughout our children's lives. At this point, they're 10 and 13 and have somehow figured out that the world doesn't revolve around them.

I live in guilt every day.
