Refer to my Dr. John "Food for thot" and George Carlin vids regarding recognized stupidity. It exists and has permeated politics like a ringmaster called Donald Barnum. dj-donald-trump.gif

Whoa. Saying stupid solves nothing.

Trump has become a cult leader. I am bemused by how a totally incompetent, totally corrupt narcissist manages this, but cult leaders are not great men (very rarely women). Great people don't need or want cult worship. Look at Bush 2. His popularity tanked when it became clear the Iraq war would be a matter of years and not pay for itself, Katrina, and economic collapse. Trump's numbers don't change however many Americans die. His failures are due to deep state conspiracy. Or they just don't believe facts. No matter if his policies hurt them. Gods often hurt their worshippers and need to be propitiated.

People are afraid and unhappy. It will magically disappear can be a more attractive message than it's going to be a hard winter.

Think for a second how stupid the average American is. Now realize that half the people in this country are more stupid than that.

And then realize that statistically at least half of the stupid people are likely registered Democrat. Bashing the intelligence of the voters who disagree with you doesn’t accomplish anything. People vote the way they do for lots of personal reasons. Voting for Trump doesn’t necessarily mean you like him, but you may feel that policy differences keep you from voting Dem.

Absolutely correct. The dems had four years to find and prep a quality candidate but instead had tantrums about trump and thought that would actually influence nonparty liners.

And we got Biden.
Indeed 50% are stupid...

But in reality i dont agree with calling anyone stupid over this.
And been my big issue with this place for a while. If you dont fall in line with the echo chamber here you are stupid. a racist supporter, etc.

So im personally gonna grab the popcorn and watch those meltdowns from those who had four years to sell a plan instead of not Trump.

I said it was a stupid plan and got slammed for it.

lots of stupid out there on both sides.

this. Been saying this for a couple years.
The response was i support a racist so im borderline racist.
or how can i support this sexual offender....

Why? (Not that i do) because so many saw the lack of plan from the dnc

Many people prefer the devil they know over the devil they dont.

You vote for the person that you want speaking for you. To be your voice plain and simple.

I will say this, it's easy to insulate yourself from the rest of the world if you're surrounded by intelligent or semi-intelligent people at work, home, social circle, etc.

But just driving around will expose you to how stupid and selfish most people are. I'll just give a recent example that astounded me. I'm in line at McDonald's on Friday night in the drive through. It was so backed up that I was waiting to turn into the queue from the parking lot. I'm clearly sitting there waiting to turn and there was a truck that was sort of blocking both lanes, but I wasn't in a rush and I was waiting for him to move forward and pick a line. This car pulls up behind me, sees that there's a bit of a gap and just goes around me and gets in line. He knew what he was doing. It was obvious that I was waiting. He didn't care. So I'm fuming at this guy, the line is moving slowly and I'm in the other line behind the original truck. Finally the truck in front of me and the douche both give their orders and are slowly moving forward. It gets to the point where the two lines filter together and the truck in front of me was supposed to move into the line but no, the douche scoots in front of him completely fucking up the line because now the cars are out of order. This guy was either such a moron that he didn't understand how these lines work (doubtful) or he was such an asshole that he didn't care (likely).

This is the caliber of person that I used to see on the road all the time when I was working out in the field. In the words of K from Men In Black, "A person is smart. People are dumb, panicky dangerous animals and you know it."

That may be your opinion, but it's not that simple for a lot of folks.

I voted for Biden simply because I can't stand Trump. That doesn't mean that I was on board with a whole lot of his policy platform, but I just couldn't stand Trump for another four years so I held my nose and voted for Joe. I think that there were a bunch of people in places where Joe's policies were perceived as being bad for their economy who held their noses and voted for Trump. Like I said, people have their own reasons for the votes they make. Good, bad or indifferent, it's their right to vote the way they want.

Completely agree.
I can't stand Trump - because he's a arrogant, corrupt ass.
I couldn't vote for Biden - because he's corrupt and flip/flops on almost every issue.
Thus, I had to vote for the Libertarians.

I totally agree. I'm not a fan of Biden. They could have put ANYBODY up against Trump and I would have voted for them. This years vote from me and my wife was against HATE!

I'm not an expert in politics by any means, but is't that basically a vote FOR Trump though?

So you're saying I missed my chance to get your vote????? :sigh:

After 2016 I cannot for the life of me understand why people pay any attention to polls whatsoever. They went the way of the dinosaur yesterday. The past 3 years I’ve spent a fair amount of time traveling around this country. Every night my goal was to settle in for the afternoon/evening in some town and then search out the local brew pub or (preferably) dive bar so I could talk to the locals. There is no better way to get a feel for a place than that (or at least for me). The vast majority of folks I have met have been genuinely friendly and welcoming (though “white” Alabama is generally excluded from that statement). And this really is a good country (with absolutely NO reason to be made “great” again) filled with good people. That said, we live in a giant bubble on the West Coast. The issues are the same but different, just as the culture is in many ways. Kinda like your cousin. We share a lot of the same DNA but we are very different people. It’s easy (too easy) to call Trump supporters “stupid”, but too many of their issues are different (or more critical) than ours. Pollsters need to get off their asses (and their phones) and start getting out into the country if they want a reasonably accurate idea of how this country feels. Unfortunately, despite hoping otherwise, I’m not really surprised at how the election has gone to this point.....

I can understand why people voted for Trump the first time. I even gave him the benefit of the doubt. But it had been an absolute shit show and he is actively threatening and altering our institutions which I view as a threat to our country. He appeals to the worst part of human nature and thrives in it. I can not for the life of me understand how anyone would look at the last 4 years and say let's get more of that. If you voted for Trump this time around then our core values are very different.

When it comes to polls I realize that after 66 years I've never been polled about an election.....I'm guessing few of us have...and there are many who would not if asked....my kind of folks usually..I don't think polls represent much other than those polled probably have a facebook account which I don't have..polls don't account for apathetic citizens or people like el prez who just get giddy about watching it all crumble.
