...the second one made me laugh...that's probably what Tote's Dobes look like to him at times.

...^^^Tote, speaking of larger breeds, we just had to bury the second of 2 Weimaraners belonging to our niece and her husband. They died within 5-6 months of each other and both died of some weird cancer even though they were only 8 years old.. These huge tumors started growing on their necks/ribs/throats. Leslie and Josh live in Warner Robins with nowhere feasible place to bury them and since we have about 35-40 acres or so they had us bury the latest one right next to the other one last Saturday. Both were very large and heavy, weighing about 100 pounds each. So each was put into one of those large plastic storage containers you but at Home Depot. Each also now has their own little hand painted "headstone" made from slabs of local flint.
...neither any of us nor the vets knows what caused the growths but it was discovered awhile back that a doggie threat they had always been given was made in China...and you just know they don't care what sort of things go into their products...but again, we don't really know for sure.
...luckily, we have a backhoe which made for quick digging of the hole...but still. it was a very somber day around here....amazing how emotionally attached we get to out pets...it really is like losing a family member.
Dogs are not pets they are family. When compliments are passed to "pet parents" on their dogs you can see appreciation for said compliment come out. My Beagle turned 11 this month and though we keep him up tip top I'd figure him good for 3 or 4 more years. My significant other and I are animal lover in general dogs in particular. Dogs just never cease to amaze
In my home, we cremate our pets and our wills specify all our ashes will be combined and spread to the 4 winds.
Last act with my dad was to tuck the urn of his beloved "Babe" (his golden retreiver) under his arm before closing his casket.
What about you Rob? Ashes???
Hey Ron...but I have Grace Cloud lined up for your eulogy.
...personally, when I want to remember someone who has passed I don't feel the need to visit them at some cemetery, which IMO, always seemed like a waste of perfectly good real estate. My minds eye can always easily summon "mental movies" of the individual whenever I like, and I've always felt that as long as a person is remembered, they're not really "gone".
....for me, cremation...no words, no flowers, no service.
...funerals, in my experiences, have for the most part, been very inaccurate and less than honest accounts of the lives of the decedents...I don't want to somehow be idealized when I'm dead and made into something that I was not.
^^^Hell I was going to see if I could get the honorable Reverend All Sharpton.
Who the hell is that??? Never heard of the bitch. lol...Ha !...Lil would kick her ass.
Who the hell is that??? Never heard of the bitch. lol
I was on the ESPN boards briefly so I guess that's why I don't remember her.
Yeah I remember the "Ghosts" but I didn't post that much to get into any trouble. lolIf you knew her than you would have been ghostoflillie, ghostoflillie2, ghostoflillie3....etc.
