Lost in the first couple of thousand posts of the Covid mega-thread during the beginning of the lockdown I had mentioned that myself and some other volunteers I had put together on Reddit were delivering food, medication, and other miscellaneous items to people stuck at home and needed help. As PPE became more available and people learned to navigate the realities of the pandemic the need for help slowly started to fade...

Until now...

This weekend myself and Mrs PokerDog ran our butts off from one side of Portland to another. It's surprising how many people are either sick or stuck at home with someone who is sick.

If you are sick and need something please feel free to reach out. I will do my best to get you what you need.

If you aren't sick and are able to help reach out to your friends and family at church, via social media, check in on your neighbors, etc. There are a lot of people stuck at home that could use a little help right now.

Some of the kinda funny things I delivered to people this weekend included someone who was pretty damn sick and needed some soup and juice but also needed a pinky rat for their snake because they were too sick to get them one.

Someone else was sick and nothing sounded good except for this Mexican beef broth that was only available at one place near them and that place doesn't deliver.

We were also able to find someone else some covid tests and get them to them.

And yes, Omicron doesn't seem to be as deadly but that doesn't mean there aren't some people in your neighborhoods and communities that could use a little help and kindness.

You're a good man, Charlie Brown.

Good Dog!! That's awesome.

Ok you gotta share that spot.

Curious on the average depth of sickness of the people you delivered to this time vs the first time?
Im just curious if the people at home are too sick to leave or protocol followers who could do things but are isolated due to contact and not the symptoms holding them down?

The person i had to cancel my vacation for and cover is cleared to come back today. and he had a cough and congestion. Tested positive Nd has symptoms on Friday night. Back to work Wednesday.

If this is the case people at home wont have to endure near as long as the first time around.

If someone is sick I make Mrs PokerDog talk to them.

Just kidding.

I've seen people pretty damn sick both times.

Didn't ask. Doesn't matter.

Figured so. May not matter to you, but it certainly matters to some. In some scenarios, there are others still not getting help who are vaxxed and other who arent getting help sooner.

Now i'm not advocating for anything, just saying some people have been pretty adamant on who should get help first. :)

Personally i'm with you. Doesn't matter. Just help whoever you can.

Hats off to you and your generosity.

One of the hardest things for people to do, myself included, is ask for help.

I don't want to make that harder.
