I think these trades could get done.

Waive Vincent and Reddish, keep Larry for vet leadership.

If these guys are right and the Pistons want some playoff or even play-in experience this trade could make sense for them.

Then after those three trades we take all three first round picks we acquired (Kings 2025, Magic 2025 and Lakers 2031) package them with Deandre to the Pelicans for Zion. Get Zion's body right the rest of this season and be ready to trot him out next season with all of our youth and hopefully another number one pick from Duke.

I think three FRPs and Deandre would be hard for the Pels to resist for the guy they can't keep on the court.

I wouldn't give Dalano AND Ant for Black and a pick. Overpay. They wouldn't want Dalano either with all the guards they have. They could use a cheap big though. But I think Black getting traded is long gone. He's playing really good ball on a winning team.

I would if it means we can rid ourselves of Simons.

With his contract that’s a bargain!

I meant, the difficulty will be getting UP to 8, not restricting it to 8.
I don't think you must protect players?

Even with multiple expansion franchise each current NBA team can only have ONE player taken though, that is if they follow the prior structure.

For free???
No of course not. I meant in the context of this trade season and ensuing deadling and draft. If it means getting assets back like FRP, everyone on POR should be available. Two 2025 FRP might be huge for this team.
The expansion draft is what we were discussing - and any player not protected can be taken from the Blazers by Vegas/Seattle without sending us anything. The original example was how Jerome Kersey was taken from the Blazers without compensation.

These aren't the good vets you want in the locker room...

Learn to be one of the worst defenders in the NBA from Simons.

Learn to be one of the worst rebounders in the NBA from Grant.

Learn that getting your bag matters more than anything else from Ayton.

These are vets that could be salvageable if you had a good team built around them with good leaders. You don't want your young team learning from them.

iiiiiii uhhhh
I don’t really know how to respond to that. So is Grant rubbing off on Deni who seems to be a pretty good rebounder at his position.

is Ayton rubbing off on Clingan? Doesn’t seem so?

it’s not about how they play on the court? It’s about in the locker room, at practice, in the planes.
Teaching kids how to act professional.

so many armchair GMs that look at purely surface level stuff. Don’t know these guys at all except for 2 hours on the tv.

so would you have rather had Grant just sign with another team and get nothing in return for him?

all 3 of them are going to be traded.
We all knew going into the season that this is how it would go.
People have such knee jerk reactions sometimes it’s hilarious.

the only thing we should be disappointed with right now is Scoot

I’m okay, I’d rather be disappointed with Jerami and Ant overall with my choice of energy

My comment was mostly in response to you suggesting they might be good vets to keep around.

I don't think that Deni has been on the same team as Grant long enough for it to be a problem. Especially if Grant is not considered valuable enough to keep even though he's an athletic wing who has skills on both ends of the floor.

They should be traded for whatever their value is. Whatever good prospects and picks they are worth. There is no value in keeping them.

Some sources grain of salt saying POR interested in Kuzma. Could this possibly be true? Has to be bs

Joe getting desperate . Personally not convinced there are good spots for these guys. Thybulle seems like the most likely followed by time lord

LOL at 1st AND a "promising". I'd be ecstatic if we got a first and an expiring/s given his contract

There are a lot worse contracts. A lot. Embiid, George, Murray, Beal, Gobert, Dame…

I do not think Cronin is getting desperate more like for one of the first times that I have seen is being real and prolly realizes that this team needs to get rid of a vet or two and just let the younger players run to see what they have. On paper even outside of Flagg this draft looks promising so this team needs to find out if the young players are building blocks / keepers or just players who can be moved. If you ask me on each young player this is my 1 sentence or so take on the player .....

Ant -- Young Vet -- He is kind of at a in -between place not a true vet but not sure a young player either but I am leaning towards moving off of him cause I think he at times has given up but might be wrong.
Clingan - KEEP he is the future
Scoot -- He was NEVER going to be a Dame type player and Cronin was a fool if he thought he was but I still think he could be a good player ala Derrick Rose lite so he should stay .
Sharpe -- He is an enigma cause we can all agree he has a shit load of talent BUT for some reason he is passive for like 50 to 75% of a game -- he would be the biggest winner from a Grant and/or Ant Trade -- PERIOD
Camara -- KEEPER -- unless we are trading him for a top 30 to 50 player who is under 30 then -- KEEP at worst he is a Kersey type player
Murray -- I think he is better then most think but his ceiling is a rock solid role player who might show flashes from time to time.
Rupert -- He needs more time and I think he was the most hurt from the Deni trade BUT would be the 2nd biggest winner if both Ant and Grant were traded --

Vets --

Grant - -Trade ASAP for a 1st and a solid player with no more then 2 yrs on his contract
Ayton -- For anything -- if a team offered a dried cow pie (turd) and a gift card I would take it that is how much I want this loser off the team and outside of the Dame stuff THIS is Cronin's worst move -- PERIOD
R. Williams -- I would be open to keeping him at least for this season to mentor DC then in offseason and hopefully he can play in 50 games or so and will have some value to trade in offseason.
Thybulle -- Anything that does not bring in a bad contract in return.

Cronin is a complete joke of a GM but I think even he is starting to realize he messed up now can he correct his mistakes .... I sure hope so cause if he cannot this team is screwed for the next year maybe two EVEN if the Blazers win a top 3 pick.

I love these type comments from random people who have no understanding of the complexities of building a small market team. I include myself, as I also have no experience in the front office of the NBA. I can understand if one gives a specific example, like I wish he would have drafted a different player than Scoot, which of course would include naming scouts, and others in the front office who collaborated on the decision. It would also involve a lot of Monday morning quarterbacking, which can be applied to 80% of all draft picks. Then we get to Dame, and whether that was a bad decision. Is Dame a player who can lead a team to the finals? Sure, if he has a superstar next to him. Did Portland have a chance to bring in a superstar? No. Trading him was the only choice. Any case, if taking cheap shots at a guy who has reached the highest level of his profession makes you feel better...Well, there is something deeper to look into.

Just a bunch of humans trying to navigate their journey to a good life. No need to tear people down.

A thousand likes, but I have to ask....

are you new here?

Bemac -- I am far from a random so putting me down like that is not cool but you are entitled to your opinion and I can see your points but that is the great part of this forum we all have our own opinions and are free to share them.
